OK from me, too. I would even propose that

- MOB cannot be deleted at all... (including delete ALL)

First one would have to go to RM, change the mark to something non-MOB, and only then the delete should work. Perhaps an explanation could be shown on invalid attempts.

OpenCPN 2.2 Beta Build 1211

Hi testers...

OpenCPN Version 2.2 Beta Build 1211 is now available.

Changelog

221. Improve performance of AIS Target List Dialog.
222. Correct double chart dir entries in Toolbox->Charts (FS#288)
223. Update S52 symbolization regarding Topmarks. Thanks again, Nohal....
224. Add a few more strings to .pot file. (FS#287, FS#298)
225. Disable ability to delete MOB point via context menu. (FS#278 redux)
226. Correct point visibility attribute of imported GPX tracks. (FS#253 again)
227. Update some existing translations, add Finnish and Greek.
228. Improve Lat/Lon input string parsing. (FS#286)

Release Beta 1211

Is this the final Beta? I think so....

Please check your Flyspray Tasks. I would like to see the list get down to "deferred" issues only for release. These deferred issues will then be moved to the 2.4 Beta program, whenever we are ready to start that process.

Thanks
Dave

Hello,

After the hard work done in October and November on bitmaps and display rules of maritime signals, I have come to the conclusion that for these objects there, it's easy to make two things automatically:
- Rules
- Names of bitmaps more practical than we have now.

1 ° The rules are listed in the cards .... When one reads the map files, instead of displaying the objects, it should be possible to write rules directly into a file. And this can be done without needing to fiddle in hand as at present.

2 ° The names of bitmaps:
Examples:
Daymark TOPSHP with a = 21 with = 1.2 and with COLOUR COLPAT = 2 could give the name "TP2112_2_" for the bitmap.
Daymark TOPSHP with a = 12, with Colour = 3,1,11 and with COLPAT = 3.1 could give the name "TP1231B31"

Because:
TOPSHP range from 1 to 33 (2 characters).
COLOUR from 1 to 13 (use of base 16 from 1 to D for each color and providing 3 characters because there are never more than 3 colors)
COLPAT range from 1 to 6 (1 characters)

But it is necessary that the names of the bitmaps have more than 8 characters.
And someone who knows how this name is constructed, can easily draw the bitmap missing.

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Great Dave, thanks a lot for the hard work.. The AIS TARGET list now functions very well.

Only ONE thing if possible before the FINAL version, could you add a frame around the selected target to ease identification. The same way when you select the target info from the right click menu. Thanks again,GREAT STUFF!!

Hello team & admiral dave, very excited about the coming christmas stable ed - thanks for all the hard work!

I'm not sure how far you want to get into the jumpto position parsing, its a continuous nuisance even in the likes of google earth.

Taking a pos from geohack (used by wikipedia amongst others), there are two "WGS84" values given: "9° 6′ 0″ N, 81° 33′ 0″ W" and "9.1, -81.55".

The first one gives me somewhere near Goa, whilst the second places the Isla Escudo de Veraguas correctly in the caribbean. I guess the "W" doesn't get parsed when using the first set?

bdbcat you need to update flyspray for the latest beta.

Chart outlines won't switch off on CM93, the switch does noting on any scale.
Windows system. OCPN build 1211
Tested with several detail settings above 0

+1

Chart outlines were off and stay off regardless of "chart outlines" box tick status in config (linux build 1211).

Dave. Re my #411. Ignore my suggestion re Target List. By selecting Goto:xxx and then selecting Target info shows the target in a square box. Great work!!

My problem is that I cannot turn off outlines what so ever, they stay on even if the box is unchecked.

HotRod....
Those dashed lines are probably Caution Area (CTNARE) outlines, not the same as "Show Chart Outlines".

You can experiment in Toolbox->VectorCharts->MarinersStandard to figure out what they are.

Thanks

You are misunderstanding the meaning of the word "Chart Outlines" in this context. It means the border of the chart itself not the outline of different areas built into vector charts. The ToolBox->Settings->Show Chart Outlines refers only to a line around the periphery of the chart.

The "outlines" of areas embedded in vector-charts can indeed be turned off, as can, more or less, every feature in a vector chart. Read the documentation on the Wiki!!!
A quick demo is to turn on ToolBox->Vector Charts->Display Category->Base. Then Click OK to close the ToolBox. All the lines that you're talking about are gone, together with a lot of other things.
For a more fine-grained control experiment with "Mariners Standard" and all filters that ends "ARE" or "ZNE".
Right click and choose "Object query" to see which "AREAS" or "ZONES" that exists, on a position.
