Dave,
it works fine when I disable libgps.
Should I use gpsd instead?

NMEA GPS and HDT problem debug:
Please add the following line to opencpn.ini:
[Settings]
DebugNMEA=1000
Run opencpn as usual. The log file will contain interesting information on NMEA processing. Please post (trimmed) log results.
Thanks
Dave

Thanks, I see the problem. Checksum calculation.
Any Windows source builders available to do a git clone and test build now?

Dave
Same as pbpaiva.
It seems to only be necessary that ToolBox -> GPS -> NMEA data source is set to Network LIBGPS for this to happen. Plugins on or off makes no difference.

Thomas....
Any possibility to try a different/older libgps? Also, does this trouble start with Build 1024, or earlier?

What do you mean? Please expand.
You can add any instrument shown in the list. The Dashboard is updated as soon as you click OK, the new settings are saved and will be reloaded at next startup.
It's true that values and history are not stored thus not reloaded if you exit the program. It's not the purpose of this plugin, it only shows live data.

Hmm..... I can't repeat this on my 32 bit Ubuntu 10.10!
The trouble started with 1024. I'll try to test with an older libgps.
pbpaiva are you using a 64 bit system?

This one I did not already.
@Pavel: So if Dave agrees you might email me your build and I will upload it to the server.

Dave
I don't get this problem when I have a gps connected!!!
Trying an older libgps means that I have to go back to an older gpsd and then I cannot test "Network LIBGPS" as only Network GPSD will be available........
Then there is the debian package gpsd 2.95-7 and corresponding libgps witch seems to lead to endless dependency problems. If necessary I'll try to compile the latest gpsd/libgps later...

Install in Ubuntu
Hi
First, thanks for that veri fine piece of software.
I tried to install opencpn 2.2.1025 on a fresh Ubuntu 1010. It failed with error: cannot create file...
If I manually create the directories, it installs OK.
No problem installing 2.1

Build 1025 is looking great. There's still a problem with matching the units associated with objects with the depth units selected for vector charts. I added a comment to task 169 but you might not notice it since you have that item marked as "Implemented in Current Beta".
Basically, you fixed the problem with text displayed on the charts next to the objects but when you do an object query the data still comes up in meters (except for bridges). Is the comment I added sufficient to get it back on your list or should I add a new bug report?
