QuickFix 606b

Viking Sailor....

Quick fix for Vector and cm93 chart problems is in CVS now.
More formal fixup tomorrow.

I think the cm93 problem is related to your startup problem.
Let me know how this works for you.

Dave,

Initial test on updated 606a looks exceptionally good. It is quick and everything I tried worked to perfection. One thing I noticed was that when using offset own ship with following turned on -- if you click on the ship icon it move the ship to the chart center and turns off following. I like it. However, not sure that is what you want.

Sorry
Please disregard my post 713. The jumping out of quilt mode issue was a local problem due to having a 1.36 version in another folder and, having the 210 update routed to this folder instead of the 210 folder.

Two item not present in file language ..

Hello,

Using a netbook Asus 1001 HA with a monitor of 10 thumbs under W XP SP3. OpenCPN 210-604

One must more 15 second so that Grib display control open itself.

When he opens himself, I can not re-close it because the button "Closed" is invisible at the bottom of the screnn.

Is it possible to reduce the height by the window ?

Best regards,

Gilletarom.

Item not present in the file language.

Hello,

I do not see at least three item witch are not present in the files .po.

- Go to here (rigthclick on a point of the screen)
- Look ahead in course upmode (Toolbox --> Configuration )
- Temporary GOTO route (Route manager when using "Go to here")

Obviously, it is not possible to translate them.

Best regards,

Gilletarom

I did not check all, but poedit marks 8 translations as "unclear". Others like "Go To Here" are missing/ do not exist in your file.

So I guess something went wrong.

Poedit counts 385 strings in your po file. The pot file contains 395 strings. So you are missing at least 10 strings.

I have used the .po file of 210-527a of the french version with poedit for this work.

And then I have compared each line of the .po 527a with the .po 604, one line by one line this morning. They have the same number of lines !

You said : "I did not check all, but poedit marks 8 translations as "unclear"". Volunteer of my portion using this freedom that poedit gives. This is not a problem.

You said : "Others like "Go To Here" are missing/ do not exist in your file.". Yes, I know. But these others items appear on the screen, when I use OpenCPN. See my three screen shots. And that is the problem !

Please Dave, can you repair that or explain me my mistake ?

Best regards

have a look at Internationalization (i18n) | Official OpenCPN Homepage

And I think you have to use the opencpn.pot file and save it as opencpn_fr_FR.po. Then use this (new) po file for your translation.

Where is exactly this new file ? In this thread "Internationalization (i18n)" ?

This adress " Internationalization (i18n) | Official OpenCPN Homepage " is broken

You can find the file in the CVS on SourceForge.net - SourceForge.net Repository - [opencpn] Index of /opencpn/po

BTW: For me the link works.

.po files

Gilletarom....

Gunther is correct. You must download from CVS the latest .po file for your language, and edit it. I no longer include .po files in the Windows installer package, since they are considered to be "source code", and so under CVS control, and of no use to casual end user.

The .pot file is a global template containing no translations. Each .po should contain all the strings in .pot, and some may be yet untranslated.

As you make changes to your own language .po file, you may submit them to me, and I will include in the CVS tree at next build.

.mo files are included in the installer. I make these fresh for each Beta build. There is no need to submit them to me. They are not in CVS because they are a "build product".

Hope this is clear.

Gunther's link worked for me. Thanks

Dave

And thanks at you two of your help. I follow also helped a same self and fair before reading your two last posts for me, I had succeeded :
- going on sourceforge: to load the .pot
- to recoup the lines unaccounted for in our file French .po.

I translated the lines which lack and me mail that to you soon.

Best regards

Gilletarom.

I confirm after several essays: This address that Gunther given to me, does not operate at home.

Great work, dev team.... RC 606a is looking great so far.

One thing that's confusing me in the new version is zoom in/out, which has exhibited some behaviours that might be "features", but might also be "bugs"- mainly to do with automatic changes of display scale when you click-and-pan between different charts (or switch between charts for the same region), and difficulty zooming out to whole-ocean scales. (I'm relatively new to OpenCPN, so please forgive me if I'm not understanding something that should be obvious).
