BlueMarble.kap isn't showing up when quilting. No other charts loaded. No log info.
For next version: Set scale to 1:100,000,000 and delete the depth unit info.

Have not updated to 514 yet but on 501 I had the following problem:
My setup is that I run Raymarine nav instruments and from the autopilot I can out- and input NMEA to my computer. The autopilot output GLL,BWC,HDG,HDM,HDT and VTG. The ship icon, when the ship is mowing, is not moving in the coarse that the ship is steered. The icon is rotaded 90 degress from the steering coarse and the icon moves like a crab.
I have the COG on the chart, but the boat is moving app. 90 degress from the coarse and also the heading vector is app 90 degress from the COG. Is this fixed in the new edition? Sorry is not in the boat for a while and can not test the new version.

linux nmea

Will...

Raw serial port NMEA works for me, Ubuntu 8.10

Can't quite see in your window whether the NMEA data has checksums. Does it?
We handle this differently in 514....

To debug NMEA, in config file, add a line under [Settings]:
DebugNMEA=1000

Then look at the (large)logfile.

Icons: AIS Icon need to live where it is, so the current size is too small.
Any other icon updates? Any other ideas for eclipsed chart bar symbolization? Maybe some kind of slick gradient effect?

Thanks
Dave

Interesting... running Kubuntu 10.04 here.

Checksums are present.

I emailed you my logfile with debug nmea on ... I can't see decipher anything wrong looking at it.

Which AIS Icon do you need?... Status (28px) or toolbar toggle (32px)?

I'll take a look at doing something with the eclipsed charts in bar.

One more... I no longer see depth units in the upper right corner when "Show DepthUnits" is enabled.

The current ais icon is prettier How would you feel about displaying alarms by animated/blinking icons in menu bar, such as AIS or anchor alarm? That red AIS icon looks like an alarm to me as it is..

That is the goto ship / follow icon. Others have requested this icon to be the same as the boat icon. AIS icon is the same...its not shown in screenshot since I don't have AIS input right now.

New cons:
AIS toggle

Route

Goto ship / follow

Current toggle

Tide toggle

Track toggle

Are you thinking of something like this?

I'm not sure how we would do this since the chart bar icons are variable size. Scaling the a semi-transparent gradient png might not always render nicely.

Perhaps we could start rendering svg directly. Can this be done in wxwidgets using librsvg perhaps? Scalable Vector Graphics - librsvg
This would definitely help other moving and rotating parts render if its possible.

I see, they're all pretty, I just find the redness of this one makes it look a bit alarming

Could the ship's icon also be rescaled?
When I zoom in the icon gets really big in relation to the waterway.

Wonderful, new builds and bug fixes seem to appear faster than I can put three sentences together...

Just a couple of issues I came across recently and some pieces from the backlog:

1. in route or track dialog the selection of a point in the list does not disappear after closing the properties window. Multiple selections remain visible. With quilting on (CM93) selecting rows in trackpoint lists produces strange results on screen. After closing the properties dialog the chart is refreshed correctly.

2. deleting all tracks (routes) with Route Manager does not clear the properties window (if already open before), and crashes on closing it, or loading it next time;
deleting a single track in RM does not clear the window, but does not crash;
deleting manually the single track works fine.

3. sector light object on CM93: selection for object query sometimes works not on the light symbol itself, but on the light sector symbol (yellow or coloured strike), giving various combinations of data, depending on which colour is clicked; while not incorrect, it is confusing and very different from typical list of lights information, making it difficult to obtain the full light characteristics. ( e.g. Trekroner light - 055 42.197 N, 012 36.871 E, cf. the sector light 3 cables to SbyE of Trekroner at the end of the breakwater near Lynetteloebet).

perhaps the most visible one is still the DW issue already mentioned:

4. Deep Water Route arrows should be 2-way or none, more examples:
- Chesapeake DW (near 036 50.935 N, 075 49.546 W) on CM93v2 and NOAA ECS alike, but different
- Sandettie DW (near 52 30N, 002 48E)
- many other DW routes in the Baltic, e.g. Off Gotland DW (near 056 02.988 N, 017 57.031 E) or Aalandsee DW (near 059 38.278 N, 019 55.235 E)

I also vote +1 to MarkJ for removing the chart info and flashing the screen on mouse rolling over the yellow chart selection bar. With quilting disabled maybe we could have the status of 1.3.6 or in the case of CM93 the info could fit perhaps where it was before, and on click, not rollover??

Great thanks for all the improvements!

Agreed, there is something about that one I'm not too fond of either. It looks like a danger/warning sign or something. What do you think of this guy:

Sniper Sites

"Show depth units" doesn't do anything, and my tides are in feet.. is that configurable? I can't remember if they were ever metric..
