Problem did not appear with me.

Sinbad7...

Is there any logfile available after your hang and reset on full rebuild?

Dave,
no problem when forced rebuilding all of my 20GB chart collection.
After that I've done some random clicking here and there and when selecting some BSB chart to quilt got the following crash. I'm not able to reproduce it with any reasonable chart set so probably it's a problem with some of the more obscure charts I've collected over the time. I would say not worth investigating now if you don't see something obvious right away.

Dave..

I attach the log file showing the crashes...

I realize there are some faulty charts which failed to load.
I never had this crash in previous versions using the same charts.

Thanks for great new version. Looking forward to testing it.

Regards
Tore

File does not attach.. logbook.txt 234 kb ??

Tore..

Please try to delete the logfile completely, and then run to hang/crash again. Should make shorter logfile....

Thanks
Dave

....or stick a .doc after the .txt in the name. This site allows
much bigger .doc files than .txt files.

Dave..

OK, having another go uploading the log file as a .log.doc file

The link you sent to the latest beta version does not work for me.
Please give me the correct link...

I just wonder if this is the same problem as "oem" has reported here:http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post466272 ?

Hi,

After testing on the 64b Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid box I found the following

I was missing the color fill in the symbols like buoys on the CM93 charts. The only way to fix this is to select the simplified chard display style in the Vector Charts configuration tab. The Buoys are red and green again but not as nice when paper chart option is selected.

regards,
Jan

Jan,
could you post a screen shot with the paper chart mode selected? The simplified mode is, well, simplified by IHO standard, so the symbols and ruleset used are different. The routines used are the same though, so it would be pretty weird if it showed the colors while paper chart wouldn't. The simplified mode also didn't get any care as I'm still not done with paper chart, so it generally misses much more rasterization rules.

Thanks for remembering :-) I feel sure there is something somewhere. I still have crashes. But still not able to identify what exactly to do to get the crashes. It can be OCPN, my charts, my vista or something else.

I have tried to simplify the problem by isolating two charts. And then to start the program, wait for the two charts to be displayed, and then press ALT-F4 to exit. Then I can get a crash after a number of start-attempts, e.g. 10. But sometimes less, sometimes more. The crash occurs always before any charts are displayed.

I can also get the crash by doing what 'nohal' describes above, that is panning/zooming over a number of charts. But not consistently, and not the same chart.

Since my charts worked perfectly earlier, and also works in Polarview, I thought they might be ok.

It could also be my personal Vista-installation. I thought so, but then I installed OCPN on a Netbook XP and also got crash there. The very late 615a I did not install on XP yet.

Then I thought that it might be the use of my danish translation, and I switched the language to english. But I can still make it crash.

I might try to delete EVERYTHING and then re-install. So far I have only deleted ini-file, logfile and chart database.

Version 2.1.0 Build 620

Hello....

OpenCPN Version 2.1.0 Beta Build 620 is available for download.

http://opencpn.org/downloads/beta/opencpn_210_setup.exe

Changelog:
195. Save and restore AnchorWatch state on application shutdown and startup
196. Preclude potential div0 in AIS target CPA calculation.
197. Correct LookAhead coordinate logic for high latitude
198. Correct Route Render and Selection logic for common point routes.
199. Add install options to Windows installer.
200. Improve cm93 larger scale cell outline rendering logic
201. Completely remove Automake/Autoconf toolchain from CVS
202. Correct (some) Vector chart object query attribute units.

---Release Beta 620---

Notes:
1. I think (again) that this is a good release, except for embedded help file which has not been pulled yet. We'll see.

2. I have been mostly ignoring suggestions and patches this week that add functionality or change dialogs. Not even adding them to the TODO list. But I see some good ideas out there.

We'll start over on the patch integration after this version settles and releases. It is time.....

Thanks, and good luck

Dave

Hi Dave

Downloaded the new 620 beta and when I ran it and checked on the help file it said it was the rc615a version. The opencpn.exe file from the new download is dated also 16 june.

Is this correct ????? for the rc620a beta

Regards .... Doug

dougwm10, try downloading again and make sure you're installing the right .exe. I just downloaded 620, and it's working fine and says Build 620 under help. The build is working great for me.
