Idpnd,
I have never seen any sounding into the green area of CM93-2 charts.
I believe they don't exist into the files.
I hope raster charts will live again for a long time ...

I can see only some stars (maybe isolated rocks ?) and nature of the ground (R=rocks, S=sand, St=?) But the hard-copy resolution is not very good, or is it my eyes ... ?!

I suppose, I thought that S was an 8 So there simply is no data for drying tidal areas on C-MAP?

That is what I believe (St=stone ?).

Can anyone look at this point into MaxSea ?
The question is : do you see any place with soundings inside the drying tidal area into CM93-2 charts ?

The question of the lines (DEPARE / DEPCNT) is another one.

that is right : no soundings at all, but there an no soundings with maxsea neither. I think they have never been in cm93. What looks as soundings in my screen capture shows only the type of bottom : S, St and so on. I know it is a pity, because we are spending a lot of time in that part of the chart in our surroundings (we have about 8 to 10 meters of tide and most of the harbours and anchorages are drying), So the important informations given by the different lines which now have disapeared from opencpn are crucial at times. Bsb charts are far much better for that reason. But i am not really in the mood to scan all my paper charts at that time ...

Yes, these lines are important in many places.
Did not find anything yet. Keep searching but missing time ...
Attached files are for testing into OpenCPN.

I don't believe MaxSea could shows exactly the same chart in both versions : old CM93-2 and new CM93-2.
Is it sure ? (colors are different on hardcopies from MaxSea and OpenCPN and I believe new charts show more details than old ones into land areas)

Can anybody confirm this ?

I tried old versions of OpenCPN but none showed theses lines on new CM93-2 charts ... unless I did not understand what you mean !?

Dear Jean Pascal,

To clarify the problem I fond, I attach 4 files (sorry for the size, but they are exact screen captures without reduction) :

2 different versions of CM93 with maxsea
and the same ones with opencpn 1.3.6

but i have no idea of where the problem comes (does anybody have an idea how to see inside a cm93 file ?)

If necessary, i can send the relevant two files.

Frank

Permit 1 stupid question if you would: What's the point in the contour lines if you don't know what they demarcate (in terms of depth or rather height above lowest tide)?

(Unrelated to your bug which is valid)

I get faint magenta lines using the CM93 1999 and 2004 issues, but (almost) none with the 2008 and 2009 versions. These lines outline rocky patches, as can be seen on the SHOM (French hydro service) raster chart

Dear Franck,
So, they look different inside MaxSea as well.
Things will be easier as we have this information.

Programmers do. So, let's try to act as programmers when something wrong happens ... Keep searching ...

This information would be interesting too, as it would restrain the bounds of the "investigation field".

There is more to it ...

On CM93 2008 (but not 2009), I can see very faint lines, almost same color as the green background, but a shade lighter, that correlate with SHOM lines. Here is a sample, but they may not be visible...

Added after downloading: I DO see them ...

Some kind of progressive disappearance ...
Everything goes down ... Fortunately, the coast line remains.
