Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate 3.3.2430 Released

Hello Dave, Hello Anyone,

ASUS EeeePC, 1015H, W 7 Starter, 10'. French Azerty keyboard.

Test : Trying "Ctrl A", then trying "Ctrl Space".

First test : With OpenGL ON

1° "Ctrl A" center the chart on the boat. This is Ok.

2° Then "Ctrl Space" normally create a MOB. But this MOB is not visible on the chart under the boat.
If I drag the chart with the mouse, the MOB is not visible.
But if I open on the "Waypoint manager", I can see that the MOB is present in the Waypoint manager.

it is possible to delete the MOB in the Waypoint manager.

Second test : With OpenGL OFF

There is no problem. the MOB is immediately visible after "Ctrl A" and "Ctrl Space".

Which can test and confirm or deny this problem in case of OpenGL ON?

B.R. Gilletarom.

Same on W 8.1 with OpenGL ON, but I can see the Mob Icon if I change the scale (+ or -, wheel of the mouse).
It's also true with selecting the MOB icon in the toolbar, without CTRL+A before.

And the waypoint "MOB" can now be deleted without changing its icon in the route/waypoint Manager.

Dave...

screen width, automatic mode.
Why not indicate (grayed out) the size automatically found in the input box for manual input of the data?
So one has a direct indication if something went wrong.

I still confirm, test made, today, with CM93 and S57 Charts

on both cases with OpenGL On and Off

re:
Ctrl-<Space> to drop MOB with OpenGL on.

I confirm your observation.
Fix is simple, done.

Thanks for the catch

Clearly if you add raster (eg charts NV-Verlag), then:
- If you start with a raster, it remains in the raster.
- If you start with S57 or CM93, one remains in CM93 / S57.

Tested this morning.

Ok, found my mistake.

Sorry

Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate 3.3.2430 Released

Hello Dave,

Sorry to bother you again.

The menu bar and keyboard shortcuts that display the menus.

So, initially, the menu bar is permanently displayed using the item located in the "Options".

then:
"Alt n" Displays and extinguished the menu "Navigate". you can also turn it off with "Esc".
"Alt v" Displays the menu "View", but do not turn off. You have to use "Esc" to turn it off
"Alt a" Displays nothing and gives successively hand menu "AIS" and "Help" menu.
"Alt o" Displays the "tools" menu and then if we start again "Alt o", displays a small window, and very quickly, the window of the "Options".

In my view, all this is not consistent.

Gille...
In my view... This is the way menus was used before mouse-time. The old trick is to press Alt and navigate to a menu header by the underscored letter and/or use the arrow keys to navigate to desired option. There you release Alt and hit Enter to activate that item. If you regret and like to ease of the menus you either hit Alt again or the Escape as you wrote.
If you don't have a mouse, or don't want to use it because the "world" rolls, this methods can be used instead. Very handy!
(In Crowdin translations the "&" sign controls which letter is underscored and used as a shortcut)

Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate 3.3.2430 Released

Gilletarom...

As Håkan says, mostly.

The menu items are turned off by Alt alone, or Esc. There is no need to type the Alt-N to turn off Navigate menu.

Code:
"Alt a" Displays nothing and gives successively hand menu "AIS" and "Help" menu.
This is due to unfortunate collision between AIS and Aide in French, both starting with A. So, you must choose one or the other with arrow, then Enter to pull the selected menu down.

Code:
"Alt o" Displays the "tools" menu and then if we start again "Alt o", displays a small window, and very quickly, the window of the "Options".
Similar trouble here. "Outils" and "Options" both start with "O" in French.
So, in English, ALT-T then Alt-O gives you options menu.
In French, Alt-O then Alt-O gives you options menu.

The collisions and ambiguities could be resolved by editing translation files, if desired.

Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate 3.3.2430 Released

AP control. I select x.xxx for output accuracy, but it does not do that. The first XTE I see is 0.010 rather than 0.001??? This makes my AP misbehave and over correct. It never sees anything smaller than 0.010 either side.

I know I should have captured the data stream, but I'm back ashore at this point. Is this a known issue??
Thx
Matt

Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate 3.3.2430 Released

Matt...

For a variety of valid-at-the-time reasons, we have an undocumented config file entry that controls the precision of the XTE part of the APB message. This control is separate from the setting in the Options->Connections page, and you will have to manually enter it into the config file.

[Settings]
NMEAAPBXTEPrecision=3

This will give you X.XXX for the XTE field precision.

Default is "2", or X.XX

This parameter will get into the Options dialog somehow in the next Release. For now, it is manual.

Sorry for the confusion, hope you did not hit anything

Dave
