Tried to duplicate but no luck. Can you tell me what dialog is shown when it freezes? Is it showing the file name dialog or does that go away before it freezes?

Are you still running under Windows?

It freezes as soon as I hit the export selected button, no further dialogues.

And yes Windows 10

Try this experiment.

1) Exit OpenCPN
2) Save \ProgramData\OpenCPN\OpenCPN.ini in a safe place
3) Edit \ProgramData\OpenCPN\OpenCPN.ini and find this line:

GPXIODir=

Does it have anything after the =? If so, you might delete what comes after and just leave the = with nothing after. If there is nothing after the = then you might add the name of the folder where you keep your .gpx files. So it might look like this:

GPXIODir=C:\\Users\\L\\Documents\\Routes

Note: the L is a user name and will be different for your computer. Use whatever is appropriate for your system.

4) Restart OpenCPN and see if the problem remains the same.

Dan and littlechay
For info I've tested in Win10 without problem.
Dan's test is fine. Could it be that the last export was done to a USB stick or a network no longer present? If such a path is (by mistake??) stored in the config file the result would be a very long "freezing" while searching for it?

There may be some bug here but I cannot reproduce a freeze. What I found was the .ini file contained no string for the export folder. I wondered if this could cause some systems to have a problem. It appears that the file open dialog has some persistent store of its own and maybe by putting a real folder name in the .ini file that would expose something helpful in diagnosing the problem. I am only guessing the freeze is related to opening the file open dialog.

What is puzzling me is that even after I saved a track and closed O there was no entry in the .ini file for the gpx folder. Only after I manually populated the .ini file did it start keeping the .ini file updated. Will study it more later when I have some spare time.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Export freeze;

The ini file contained a valid location string c:\\OziExplorer\\Data which I guess was the last export I did with either 4.0 or the 108 beta.

I deleted the string after =

No change

I put the string in for my usual GPX files folder

No change.

Freeze happens as soon as I click on Export Selected. Main panel goes black, not responding appears in the route and mark title bar.

Hitting export all visible has the same result.

I have intermittent phone access so if there is something I can send just say and I'll try.

Chris

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Chris,

I am stumped right now. I cannot reproduce this. Are you using the installation that you got from me or from the official OpenCPN web site?

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

I think this is a new issue in CM93. It seems there are multiple layers shown at the same time so the duplicate depth and contour data causes blurring where they overlap. The first screenshot is with CM93 detail set to +3 and the second is set to 0.

Built with latest git as of 12-Jan 12:00UTC.

Chris,

Does the same thing happen when you try to export any route or just one specific route? Also, can you export anything else such as a waypoint?

Dan,

It occurs whatever I try to export even a single waypoint.

Still using the version I got from you.

Chris

There seems something wrong with your scaling?
I have 15500 (1.3x) and no OverZoom and you have 18400 (5.4x) with OverZoom for the same area. Settings details here to whatever value.

Chart Zoom/Scale Weighting = +5

I changed it to 0 but the double layers are still shown.

Are you sure it's new? Tried with 4.0 and it's the same, OCPN doesn't fully understand CM charts with updates, it always add when it should replace some features.

Not true here. It works as expected, see my screenshot above.
Perhaps some outdated and/or cracked CM93 versions?
I use CM93ed2_2013May.

Tested your position with cm93 V july 2012 - O 4.1.1301 - seems to display correct.
