@alexej-osm...

re:
I will do the correction about line 0, Which btw leads to a question about color 0. Is that used?

From the 'old' descriptions of the kap format I got the impression, that all indices started originally with 1 instead of 0.

Which 'definition' of the kap format do you use? Because our primary goal in providing the kap chart bundles is for them to be used with OpenCPN, I would like to use the same 'definition'.

1. Color "0" is used, if referenced by the RLL stream. That's OK.
2. There was confusion on KAP Version 1.x about the starting line index. This seems to have resolved by common consent in V3.x to start with line 0. At least by observation of NOAA .KAPs.
3. We use the same "definition" of KAP as you do, probably. Which is to say, extracted from reading the source of libbsb and/or GDAL. That's the best there is.

On the file names: NOAA packages KAPs in a variety of bundles. If users download and merge different bundles into one file tree, there will be duplicates. For instance, the small scale chart of the Gulf of Mexico exists in several Region downloads. We choose the most recent file (by date) for inclusion in the OCPN internal database as we import the bundles.

If you generate globally unique names for the KAPs in the OSM bundles, then all will be well.

Thanks for the new chart content.

Hi 'transmitterdan'

you have the scheme about the xml and a description of the download process?
May be we can incorporate it into our environment.

I did not mean same file file name in the same folder, but same file names in different folders. How would you prevent different vendors from using the same name for different charts?

Works fine here.
Screenshot?
Which style? Traditional or Journeyman?

Anyone else have trouble with night colors on Win 10?

Thanks
Dave

One for Dan I think.

The dashboard instrument "True wind speed and directions" still shows 999.0 knots in my setup. Must have slipped through when the other fixes were done.

Chris...

Can you post a bit of the NMEA stream you are pulling in for wind speed/direction?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Hi,
I have just been using commit 5af5a23 from OCPN to test the OD plugin. There appears to be an issue with the setting of the SVG icons for plugins when the plugin changes its icons in the toolbar. At 0ed0915b it all works OK, but with 5af5a23 the icons do not drawn correctly when they are changed. There appears to have been a change in the toolbar.cpp to draw the plugin icons better, but the affect is to not draw a toggled icon correctly. I have attached screen shots showing this. I think the error is in the BuildPluginIcon method as the TOOLICON_NORMAL and TOOLICON_TOGGLED sections are quite different.

Images left to right, top to bottom:
Icon Normal, Icon Rollover
Icon Toggled Rollover, Icon Toggled Normal

Alexej...
There is no XSD for the catalogs, but we basically use a subset of what NOAA produces. Have a look at https://github.com/chartcatalogs/catalogs, it should be clear what is needed from looking at the files there. As far as how it works, simply download the OpenCPN 4.1 beta and try it.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, but I'm currently traveling and with very poor access to the Internet most of the time, so it may take a few days to respond.

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Thomas...

I think you have somehow a bad source file. We saw this bug earlier, and I fixed it. Or at least found a way to avoid a crash.

Please check src/georef.cpp. It should look like this at line 913:

Code:
void MolodenskyTransform (double lat, double lon, double *to_lat, double *to_lon, int from_datum_index, int to_datum_index)
{
    double dlat = 0;
    double dlon = 0;

    if( from_datum_index < nDatums){
      const double from_lat = lat * DEGREE;
      const double from_lon = lon * DEGREE;
      const double from_f = 1.0 / gEllipsoid[gDatum[from_datum_index].ellipsoid].invf;    // flattening
      const double from_esq = 2 * from_f - from_f * from_f;                               // eccentricity^2
      const double from_a = gEllipsoid[gDatum[from_datum_index].ellipsoid].a;             // semimajor axis
      const double dx = gDatum[from_datum_index].dx;
      const double dy = gDatum[from_datum_index].dy;
In your crashdump image, the line numbers don't match.
