OpenCPN Plugins for non Debian or Fedora based distros

Are there any downloads, install or build instructions for installing plugins on Linux distros that are not Debian or Fedora based?

I am using Manjaro, which is Arch based. The main OpenCPN program is available in the Arch User Repository (AUR), maintained by "Mr.Elendig", but none of the plugins are available. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/opencpn/

I am happy to have an attempt at building from source if necessary if someone is able to point me in the right direction.

NevP...

All of the PlugIns have source available on github. Links provided in the opencpn.org Downloads page.

I'd say just clone the source, and try a local build. Report what, if anything, is broken. We would like to improve our build universe, so we look forward to your results.

Good Luck

Re: OpenCPN Plugins for non Debian or Fedora based distros

Hi,

I am new to opencpn etc, but not new to working with Linux/Unix systems.

I normally work on Manjaro Linux for my laptop and ideally would like to use it on a Raspberry Pi 4 too.

I can now see that many of the openCPN plugins and SignalK packages are now in the AUR repositories.

Is anyone using Manjaro/Arch on their boats?

Thanks,

Tim

Had a small play with Manjaro:

You need the flatpak install of OpenCPN and then you can use managed flatpak plugins.

For the RasPi consider OpenPlotter which contains OCPN as its plotter.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I will use the Raspberry Pi OS/Open Plotter as it will be easier to share information with other users by. It looks like some of the more plugins and extras are going to be better supported on Raspberry OS.

Here's a nice place for detailed instructions to prepare a SD card for OpenPlotter:
