OpenCPN on Intel Compute Stick - Ubuntu

I have been using OpenCPN for about 3 years now and really love it.

I am trying to install the OpenCPN on a Intel Compute Stick STCK1A8LFC.

It does install, barely, yet when installed with a minimal set of utilities then the 8 Gig gets tied in knots (out of memory warnings).

Does anyone know if it is possible to direct the install of OpenCPN onto an installed 64Gb SD card instead of the built in memory?

Thanks for any help provided.

Best

I think that might be a bad stick.

Clean it off and try again, or get a nice new 16gb 3.0 they are quite cheap now.

Is that a USB, if so clean it off and reformat it (there are utilities) and then try again or get a nice new 165gb USB3.0 they are cheap.

If this is some mini computer on a stick, don't reformat. Carefully clean your installation off it and then test and reinstall. Opencpn should work but how much is available space?

I think a portable install would work. and use opencpn /p
but you could install opencpn in builtin memory and make sure all your chart files and other user files are stored on your 64gb
