OpenCPN on Android Double DIN Head Unit

While browsing for some stereo equipment, I noticed that there are quite a few Android-based head units with nice 6-7" touch screens + GPS. Many are priced in the $200-$300 range. ( Examples from Amazon)

I was thinking it might be fun/useful to install one with OpenCPN as a secondary chart-plotter that could also provide audio to the boat at a reasonable cost.

I was curious if anybody has already done this and if so, are you happy with the setup?

Cool idea.

One thing to consider: These are not made to conserve energy.
Expect them to eat a couple of amps, so not suiteable for a small sailboat.
