Opencpn - navigatrix - new charts

Hi guy's

Since my computer definitively died (windows based) I installed a new car pc. It's small, fanless and low power consumption by design.

I also chosen for Navigatrix package. I have no Linux experience but it was easy to install and I appreciate it.

But now I'm looking to buy new charts. Free charts, tide tables and pilotage : from Visit My Harbour is only windows compatible. But what about NV-Verlag ?

I look for North Sea charts

Thanks

NV-Verlag is using encryption. For this purpose they bought a external encryption program that is Windhoze only. For the decryption you need also windows. (and the NV-verlag plugin)
For linux and Northsea there is S63 if you need recent charts, or you can search the internet for a CM93 copy.

S63 will depend from the Hardware architecture you are using:
Intel Linux yes, ARM Linux no.

We are working on this - including RasPi.

The versions for OCPN 4.2 of the plug-in are online for the supported systems.

Dirk, suggest you write Mike R. Rasbats on this forum. He may be able to help. Looks like BCN is on it too.

Re: Opencpn - navigatrix - new charts

Thanks for those responses.

I have CM93 but on some areas they become to be outdated (i.e. traffic channel have been moved ).

As the opencpn team is working on this point, I'll wait for the update to be availble. In the meantime, I'll do as I did before : buy paper charts, scanning and referencing.

This job is not too difficult as I have access to A0 scanner and paper charts from NV-Verlag are A2 size.
