Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Hello JesperWe

I re-built the french file language. I use this time the .po in the guit ub (file OpenCPN-OpenCPN-opencpn-3.0.0-225-g42b8638.zip) and the .pot which is in the same zip file.

So, here this new french file language.

Now, is it Ok ?

Gilletarom.

The new file you attached is pretty much the same as the previous one. Not working well.

I don't understand the file name above, what is that and where do you get it from? The name looks very wrong, with 3.0.0 in it?

Look at the link I posted yesterday, that is the location of the current and beta-updated French PO.

You should not need to use the .pot file, that is an intermediate stage in creating the .po that is automatically performed in to Ocpn build process.

Instead just get the po/opencpn_fr_FR.po file from https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/tree/beta31_stable

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Hello JesperWe,

1°) It has been two and a half years we use the pot file to update the po file using the software Poëdit.

Why should he change the method that was explained by Dave at the beginning of this thread.

2°) The file "OpenCPN-OpenCPN-opencpn-3.0.0-225-g42b8638.zip" contains all the software sources. It contains all the po files. And also contains the latest version of the pot. I downloaded it here:

See screen copy and this link : https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN

3° When I use the po file that I sent you, and mo file generated by poedit with OpenCPN, there is no problem. I just re-download from this thread to check.

SO, WHERE IS THE PROBLEM ?

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Sorry, my mistake. Too many installations. Your latest file is fine!

For reference:

It looks like github puts a funny filename when you download the zip.
It is certainly not zipping 3.0.0. It is using the "master" branch.

So going straight to the correct file in the stable beta branch is actually better:

- You don't have to download the entire 20MB OpenCPN tree.
- You get the stable files, not the (potentially changed) master file.

If you want to work from the .pot (which is not necessary since the .po is already generated, but anyway...) the good file to get is: https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/b...po/opencpn.pot

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

There is a new text in 3.1.814 that is maybe a bit hard to translate if you don't know where it is used.
It is the word "in" in the AIS Target Query window. It is to be read in the sense of "how long time until".

So the CPA reads for example "5.5 NMi in 2 h 30 min"

Thank you. I undestand and see.

There is some mistakes in my last version so, I work on it and I send an other version later.

The Tr file in this link (https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN) is older than the po file than I posted lately.
I hope new tr po file can be used with 3.1.915
