Re: OpenCPN General

Hi, I am hoaving some techincal difficulties associated with my S63 charts from the Australian Hydrographer's office. On furst installation, I have been able to see most of the information on the charts using Open CPN, but I have not been able to encourage the charts to show me any place names. I have tried using the Charts, Vector Charts Display tab to tick the 'national text on chart' box, as well as unchecking the following two boxes. Is anyone else having issues with this functionality? Can someone provide some advice? I'm operating on windows 10 on a new HP laptop. Thanks. CP

Re: OpenCPN General

Keep looking at options. I'm away from my computer just now to look up tabs but there is an area you can select what you see. I use CMap charts and often have same frustration but get theee with perseverance. Help manual I find good

I think that your problem will be solved by reading the the beginning of this manual page.
https://www.opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=opencpnpencpn_user_manual:charts:vec tor_display_tab

For a quick fix hit the "T" key.

Re: OpenCPN General

After crossing the Pacific and passing the date line i have noticed an interesting thing.

When pres now in the grib-file menu, there is a 20 hour difference in the grib-file compared to what the dashboard in OpenCPN shows.

Where can i correct that.

Grib file said Sunday 6.00 UTC, OpenCPN said Saturday 08.00 UTC

Regards, Lars

OpenCPN 4.6 for OpenSUSE is almost there

Hello,

I have built OpenCPN 4.6.0 for OpenSUSE.
Currently I only publish the package in my private repo.
home:dominigpencpn-sandbox

As testing on my desk is not good enough, I will transfer the result in the official repo, only once that I will be satisfied with my test at sea.
Application:Geo:OpenCPN
.
Beside of Weatherfax_pi and weather_routing_pi, all other Linux plugins seem happy.
NOTE: I am not equipped to test all of them, in particular, I cannot test the radars and the non free chart oeSENC and S63

If you give a go before from my sandbox repo, plese let me know how it worked.

NOTE: It's better to un-install opencpn, all the plug-ins and libwx* (nostl) and reinstall OpenCPN-4.x which will pull all the dependencies.

Kenavo.

Dominig..

re.: oeSENC

Did you build the pi for Suse?
If you need a chart set for testing we can arrange this.
Just drop us a mail.

For S-63 there is the S-64 test set.

S63 and oeSENC chart for test on OpenSUSE

Hubert,

yes, I build both non free chart suport plugins, s63 and oeSENC.
Users who install OpenCPN from my repos get OpenCPN and all the plugins valid for Linux.
As I maintain the official repo, it's the default one click install (directly from Firefox), so that most what people get :-)

I would also be interested to get a solution to validate the weatherfax_pi.

Having a test set for no free chart would be nice.

Kenavo.
