Re: OpenCPN General

Can't find a thread so hope help will arrive!
Ive been using OpenCPN for years now on WindowsXP. Great Program. Ive treated myself to a Macbook Pro with El Capitan. Instal went fine and charts in, GPS (Globalstat) working and all text was on the screen.
I fiddled as I do with Vector Chart fonts etc and to Mariners Standard. All looks as I"m used to n the settings and depths are shown but the text has disappeared. when I switch text on I only see bearings on just one light. Anyone know what I've done?

Re: OpenCPN General

On the OpenCPN website, under Plugins for OpenCNP 4.2 and 4.4 there is a link to GXRadar v1.1, released 2016-08-16 for "Connecting the Radar to OpenCPN". Under plugins Navico Radar v2.0, released 2016-08-08. I cannot find a "Connecting the Radar to OpenCPN". Can you help me find this PDF for our 4G Simrad Navico Radar? We are not new to boating, but we are new to OpenCPN and we are just learning the ins and outs. Thank you for your hard work.

re: James..........
Take a look here: Navico Broadband | Official OpenCPN Homepage
(Resent release is version 2.1)
The hardware connection to a OpenCPN PC is simple. Give the radar scanner main power over a fused switch. (See your radar manual for cable color marks. My BR24 has black for ground and red and yellow together to +12V) Connect the IP/network cable to your PCs network port. Start your PC and power on the radar. Be sure to admit local and extern traffic trough the firewall.

re: Rakoa...
No radar plugins are so far made for Androids. But as long you've AIS data coming in to your tablet via a network or any other way OpenCPN will show AIS targets.

Re: OpenCPN General

Rakoa you should get paid version to get updates, but it is as stated, with just Wmm, Dashboard, Gribs, Chartdownloader, & Squiddio plugins at this point!

Bdbcat, I think
Android version should have a link to the android forum under About.

I added such a link a few days ago, under the heading "Platforms".

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas,

Perhaps I was not clear. What you've done is good, but what I meant was for there to be a link to the Android Forum from the Android PROGRAM, under About.

Re: OpenCPN General

Does opencpn.org still accept donations? The donate link on opencpn.org appears broken.

I have been using opencpn on various linux machines for the last 2 years. Recently I compiled & installed 4.5.0 from source on my Debian Stretch machine, I have not tested very heavily yet but it appears to be very stable.

Anyway... Big thanks to all the contributors of this amazing cross platform software.

Yes, absolutely.
We have some temporary issues on the website.
You will find the correct link on this page
About OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage

The link is also available in OpenCPN itself. Click the icon that looks like a book with a "?" on.

Thanks!

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas for info:
No Donate buttons on "http://opencpn.org/ocpn/node/7253" nor "http://opencpn.org/ocpn/" are working. Both are calling for "http://opencpn.org/ocpn/about#donate" and that page is not found.

The "Donate" button from within OpenCPN Tools Help is however leading direct to the PayPal page and that one is working fine.

Re: OpenCPN General

Håkan

Strange About OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage works for me.
The site is now back to normal(almost). Please verify that the "About"and "Donate" buttons works.

Thanks for testing.

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas
Now the Donate buttons on both "http://opencpn.org/ocpn/node/7253" and "http://opencpn.org/ocpn/" are correct also for me.
Thanks/Håkan
