Yeah, just a few Android users...hardly worth the trouble.

"According to a January 2015 Gartner report, "Android surpassed a billion shipments of devices in 2014, and will continue to grow at a double-digit pace in 2015, with a 26 percent increase year over year." This made it the first time that any general-purpose operating system has reached more than one billion end users within a year: by reaching close to 1.16 billion end users in 2014, Android shipped over four times more than iOS and OS X combined, and over three times more than Microsoft Windows."

Don't know if it has already been mentioned before, but I can't sort the AIS target list on distance, name, MMSI etc.
ASUS Transformer T700.

Check this Tracker List, if it is not there, register for Tracker, and enter it as a Task, under Features. Start your title with AIS - Sort...

Then by all means VOTE for it, and get your friends to vote for it too.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.909

Compiled the very last git with the two new "integrated" plugins in W8.1/VS2013/wx3.0.2

my first remarks :

1) these plugins are not completely integrated, I had to built them separately before

2) all the new dialogues do not apply the font selected in the core

3) the chart loader preferences dialogue is not good ( see shot attached )

except that I didn't noticed any problems at the moment ( cannot test chart loader)

re:

I don't understand. Do you mean that the PlugIns are not built at all?

Note that the 4 integrated PlugIns do not get built except by the PACKAGE target in VS2013, when they are added to the setup binary. If you want to run OCPN in the VS2013 IDE, you will need to build them manually, and relocate to the proper place for runtime.

Thanks
Dave

Dave

I fetched and merged then built O in vs2013 IDE as I have always done. (only in release mode for the moment)

In the folder build/plugins/grib_pi/release I have the grib_pi.dll
the same for dashboard
but for the two new plugins, I had no release folder, the plugins dll were not created.
I open the two .snl files in VS2013 IDE (as separate projects )and built them. Then I had the release folder with the .dll inside and now I can run inside VS2013
That why I said "not completely integrated"
But may be it's a normal process, although new for me.

Now I will build debug and the package and see what happens

thanks

New Git build in debug and release. You can forget my point 1. After issuing cmake, every things OK. The four plugings built and run inside Vs2013 ide.

Package: did not build. These 4 files were missing in buildwin folder:
- libcurl.dll
- libeay32.dll
- ssleay32.dll
- zlib.dll
- curl-ca-bundle.crt
Once I have copied it's from the Web, package built and ran OK. I have missed something?

Confirm points 2 and 3

JP

Sounds OK/normal now. I think we need to touch up the Wiki build instructions a little bit.

Points 2 and 3 (dialog font and layout) are good for you now with latest github?

Thanks

Just dropping in to reiterate that OpenCPN android works well with a bluetooth gps. It is simple. Pair with device before starting Oa, then goto toolbox/Connections ...

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.909

Unfortunately opencpn has stopped. This is the message that appears just after the opening screen. It would appear from the log that config file is not being written. My tablet is a Lenovo yoga 2 with android 5.0.1. Any ideas please.
