Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Just want to say thanks.

Just installed on Samsung galaxy S5, zoom is much better than previous version.

Will continue testing over the next couple of days.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Hi Dave

When compiling the last git with W8.1 / wx3.0.2 / vs2013 I get a crash when
switching from CM93 and bsb charts by clicking on the chart bar.

For me it is easy to reproduce :

-Set a chart group containing CM93 and bsb charts
-Manage to display only CM93 ( yellow bar)
- Move/zoom the chart until a blue chart bar appears
- click on the blue bar = crash

I can't say more, I tried to run in debug mode, but vs2013 refused to give me
the call stack.

I tried also AO with the same charts and it didn't occur.

I tried with a Linux compilation (Kubuntu 14.04)
With the same process I get the same crash

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

I have discovered some anomalous behavior when using opencpn with a mouse - both usb connect & bluetooth.
Left click and drag does not move the map.
Left click on a waypoint in a route will highlight the waypoint in yellow but a second click does nothing so you cannot move the waypoint.
If I switch off the touchscreen interface then the waypoint is not highlighted but the point can be dragged with a single click.
The same mouse does function correctly in memory map.
This is important behavior as using touch screen is not viable on a moving boat.
One of the other useful features using a mouse on the windows version is the ability to see range and bearing of the cursor on the bottom line. Can this be implemented in the android version?
(Samsung galax tab s using samsung and USB mouse)

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Ahoy testers....

Mouse:

I have tried using a mouse with OA. It works, sorta.

1. Some trouble with responsiveness. Slow drags sometimes stutter and drop out. Click on a waypoint to move it shows yellow box, but sometimes goes to W/P properties dialog, as though a double click.

2. Mouse wheel does not work to zoom the chart, although will scroll the OA basic settings dialog.

3. Right click does nothing.

Before I dig into this more fully, I would like to know more practical tester experiences with mouse on OA.

Thanks
Dave

Dave..
Not OA but O-Win. All mouse actions work as expected.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

mouse on Galaxy Note I...pretty much same as you, Dave.
Left click is good,
Scroll not happening (but I can use +, -, in toolbar)

Right-click is a Quiet Fast Crash. Someone else will save me the time of looking it all up? but , it seems right-click is supposed to end apps = "back" button? It has this behaviour on all the other apps I've tried...perhaps needs a driver of some sort.

edit: a usb mouse via otg

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Hi,

Grid and curved lines no longer dissappear, so this is fixed.

A couple of new observations.

1) In basic mode, the buttons are switching places when pressed. See pics.
2) sometimes it has happened that drawn navigational objects become huge, e.g. four times normal size. This took place when I was switching between expert and basic modes. I have yet to find a way to reproduce it reliably.

Again, great progress! Thx!

Smile Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Dave,
I had a complete lock up of opencpn which forced me to download &re-install.
This has corrected most of the anomulous mouse behaviour.
I can now drag charts and waypoints.
Differences to windows version are now inability to zoom using mouse wheel and lack of range / bearing to curser display on bottom line.
Windows version also detects cursor close to screen edge & displays a green pointer which allows chart scrolling.
Program is noticeably faster since reload.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Hi
For WinXP and W7 (compiled with VS 2010 and 2013)
The object query for CM93 is empty when using 4.1.818, latest github code.
See attached picture where the left part is 4.0 and right 4.1.818. Both queries are for the same area.
This issue could be rather old, I haven't used the object query for a while.

Re: OpenCPN for Android Beta test 4.1.818

Seems to be happened since 2 weeks ago with some SENC changes, especially GetObjRuleListAtLatLon().
It is always difficult to follow the commits. I count 53 new commits since 4.1.818 and after nearly each commit you have to test the whole program for new errors. Too often after a new commit other things doesn't work anymore which has been OK earlier.
