Just found out that it might be a fault in the crappy file manager Android comes with. If I delete the opencpn folder, then runn the program it is not visible immediately in the file manager. Only if I exit the current folder (in my case /storage/sdcard0) and then go back the contents of the folder is updated and the opencpn folder with the log becomes visible.

Well, I have the same problem as others on my Android 4.0.4 unrooted phablet: "Unfortunately OpenCN has stopped working" ...
What is strange, using the "find" function of my file managers (on Android directly or on PC via an USB connection) I cannot find any OpenCPN files or sub-directories when installing OpenCPN using the apks from messages #1 and #72.
however, when using the apk from message #45, I can see several OpenCPN sub-directories and files but no log file

With "..debug5.apk" O starts up on my GT S7710 now and looks absolutely great.

Just one thing you might like to know...
In portrait mode the 2 icons for "Route Mark Manager" and "Enable Tracking" are not visible (on my Samsung GT-S7710). I only found out they were there when I turned my phone 90 degrees.

Thanks for the report, and I am glad you are up and running.
The ActionBar icon count is strictly controlled by the Android OS. The designers really want to leave a lot of "white" space on the Action Bar, I suppose so as not to intimidate new users with too many choices.
OCPN follows the Android standard here, and it would be very difficult to deviate from it in a portable way.

Installs fine now. on the small display for the GT-S7710 there is less usable space for O with the new Android standard user interface, working with advanced settings was possible with the old interface, with the new interfaced this is almost impossible on the small GT-S7710 display.

Just installed on rooted Samsung tab 8 4.4.2. Looks very usable. However, my tracks from the previous version don't display, have I lost them?

Hi All, I also got OpenCPN running with the new debug version (QtApp-debug5.apk). However, I don't see any maps, just a black background. even the background worldmap is not visible.
I tried .kap files and cm-93.

OpenCPN 4.1.630 does not start. I tried also to start O 4.1.705 without success, In both case, after welcome message and 'Yes', I get the desktop screen
Samsung tablet 7" Android 4.2.2.
Do you have an idea ?
