Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10125

Dave...

do you remember that you compiled some special versions for this macMini with regards to Danish S-63/S-57 charts and we got it quite stable?

Obviously a very picky OpenGL driver on this system.

Did those patches make it into this beta?

Try commenting out the line in cmakelists.txt that sets mfpu=neon.

Also try executing:
Code:
gcc -dM -E - < /dev/null | grep NEON
and what is the output??

Let us know how the rock64 runs opencpn. Did it detect opengles?
Build went OK after commenting out the line containing mfpu=neon (thanks Pavel)
Yes, there IS a problem with opengl.
I have to read again the dev manual on building for armhf.
Unfortunately, I won't be at home until Monday, so tests will be postponed until then.
But I'll be back here !

For example the picture with a waterway from S to N is from https://www.elwis.de/DE/dynamisch/IE...16-03-24_0_115

And while I can't reproduce it with these very iENCs, I can do this with the ARG KAPs (chartdownloader plugin) and OpenGL and Smooth Panning & Zooming enabled:

I can confirm this. But I do have a hunch, this happened before to me during an update. All my gpx layers were visible after the upgrade, while I have most of them on 'hide' usually.

the argentina kaps may or may not be the same issue.

If you inspect the kap files with a text editor, you will find reference points outside of the image (negative pixel coordinates)

the defined chart boundary is outside of the chart image. Normally the boundary (used for quilting) is inside the chart image or at least falls on the edge of the chart image. I have no idea if it's legal or not, it seems wrong to me.

We could perform a simple region operation to ensue the chart boundary only covers areas within the chart image.

I certainly didn't consider this case.

Nohal...

I concur with Sean. The Argentina charts are bizarre. Not the same issue as iENC bug bcn reports.

re MacMini iENC rendering issue.

Still wondering:
1. Logfile, please.
2. Same behavior on O4.8.0?

Thanks

Is this also an intentional change when closing this slider then OpenCPN freezes and cannot be closed anymore?

You should be more honest to the users of the official OpenCPN version.

What does this have to do with honesty? What do you mean by lack of it? And how should we improve the situation exactly?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10125

On my Mac the sliders are working without problems. HighSierra 10.13.2

Would it be possible to have the factors/numbers as tool tips while moving the slider - as a way around the not working fixed labels?

After installing the oeSENC and S-63 plug-ins plus rebuilding the chart data base I can't replicate the error any longer.

Sorry

The fault is repeatable.
The oeSENC plug-in is the standard one from the download page.

There is a price in work doing anything but simply not using the, in wx3.0 on macOS, buggy sliders with labels anywhere where they can be hidden or are placed on a scrollable window. My question is: Is this an issue important enough to invest that work? I'm so far not sure, convince me...
