Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10119

Gilletarom...

Can you tell us more about your netbook? What version of linux, graphics, etc.

Experiment:
Use MARINERS STANDARD mode, starting with "Reset to STANDARD" button. Add Feature Types one-by-one until it crashes. There is the bug...

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10119

This may be categorized as a future request but since you are in the tracks code...
On Win10:
When the track consol window is opened for an active track the main canvas would get focus/being activated after the "show". My goal is to get e.g. the F2, auto follow, key to work without a mouse click on the O frame or the chart. There is no need to "stay" in track canvas window since no control needs attention there. All actions are make by the right click menu.

1° My netbook : ASUS EeePC 1001 HA. About 8 year old. It was under W then W Crash ... And I put W out and install, last year, or more before (?) Linux Ubuntu 16.04 Trusty.

2° So, I open "Options/Charts/Vector charts", I choice "Standard mariner" and I go down and use the buton "Reset to STANDARD" .

Then, one by one, I check the objets that are not in Standard. So I check the one, then "Apply", then spining wheel, then finished. Then I check the second, then "Apply", then spining wheel, then .... From "Admin area" to "Maximlum admitted vessel speed".

Nothing occur.

Then I change from "Standadr mariner" to "Standard", then apply, then "I change for "All", then Apply. Nothing occur.

Then "Standard", "Apply", "ok" and I shutdown OCPN. Then I re-run OCPN. Nothing occur. Then ""All", then I stop O, then I rerun O, nothing occur ....

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10119

Hmmm. I was wrong in last post. Left click in route canvas window is used. To toggle "This leg" <-> "Route".
Nothing to do then I suppose.

Dave

The feature:
"Make line and polygon smoothing optional in OpenGL mode"
is missing from your list.

Thanks!

Not sure if this came in with the last beta release or this one but VF Kaps no longer appear over other raster charts, they do tile over CM93 charts. Latest version of VF Kaps from the downloads page. 1.1 I think.

Not a clean install but simply an upgrade install.

Moo ...

Are you using encrypted raster charts such as those from VisitMyHarbour? Try removing the VMH folder from the charts in use. Use VFKaps to make another satellite chart, add the VMH folder back into 'Charts'. You should find the new kap will tile properly.

Due to encrypted chart security you cannot make a vf kap chart at the same time as the encrypted chart is in use.

https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...ing_the_plugin

Edit: Scaling caused me a problem. I had to turn off chart quilting to allow zooming in on the satellite chart.

No it's not that. There are no encrypted charts on my system. I was testing with the New Zealand raster charts installed by the built in chart downloader.

Your on the right track with quilting. Turning quilting off allows me to see the VF images.

This has worked previously for me and I used VF Kaps generated with the plugin back in November in Fiji.

Cheers

I can't find a general problem with vfkaps quilting normally with other raster charts. Se picture below. I think it's more of a problem with the exact scale of vfkaps in relation to your NZ charts. I have my vfkaps in a separate group for full control of what I see. This works very well together with the new numerical keys shortcuts, which makes changing from one view to another very fast.

I have them in a separate group which works..

The VF Kaps used to tile over the raster charts, but now they don't. Something has changed.

My question is not on how to use them, although I think you for the input, but to point out that something has changed. Nothing has changed in my installation other than upgrading to the latest beta of OCPN and the latest version of the plugin.

I'll try a clean install and see what happens.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10119

Commit 3f980d8 somehow breaks the proper display of CM93. Now I have the log full of lines like:
23:27:25 CET: Loading CM93 cell /path/to/03901020/e/04161068.e
23:27:25 CET: cm93chart Error ingesting /path/to/03901020/e/04161068.e

Notice the lowercase 'e', the uppercase file (/path/to/03901020/E/04161068.E) does exist !

Digging a bit into the code, it seems that this is caused by the fact that the array used to speed up searches uses '03901020/E/0' as a key, and when one of the charts inside this directory is missing, all the directory will be recorded into the array as being missing.

I'm not sure what the proper fix is (extending the key to the full pathname ?), but reverting the commit fixes the problem.

Stelian.

Stelian...

I see the problem, I think. I corrected some probably related cm93 errors in github, anyway.
Please try the current github master.

Thanks for the catch.
