P_Dub...

Still not sure we understand exactly what the problem is that you observe on tide tables.

I want to be sure we fix this for the next Beta. Will you send me a screenshot?

bdbcat@yahoo.com

Thanks
Dave

Not him but it's not 7h , 19h the issue it's a false clue because tide cycle (l+h) is roughly 12h where he is:
Open the tide window and click on prev, prev, prev. Low and hight tide dates in upper right corner don't change because time is going backward so the new logic is using cached values as (newtime - prevtime) < 60 rather than recomputing it.

Another small Tide issue. Tide is going up and on the tidal bar going down.

In addition to size/position of the AIS Target List I like transfer the Range column first on left followed next on the right by the target "Name" column, and would like to save that on exit also. "Iceing" (it's much sweeter than just "frosting" ) on the cake would be to list targets by nearest to the top, down to more distant to the bottom.

Maelruan...

1. Unlikely that we will implement configurable AIS target list columns on this Release. Sorry. I see this as a persistent Feature Request, though.

2. You can already sort the rows by distance. Just click on the column heading for the parameter you would like to sort by, in this case distance. One click sorts increasing. Another click sorts decreasing.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10109

Hello Dave,

I do not know if the 4.8 plugins can be used with 4.8.10109 but I still tested VDR with the beta, to read one of my VDR files. (here I join this VDR file)

I have tested the functioning of two new items present in "Options / Ships / Own ship":
- Calculate SOG and COG from positions change
- Min seconds between updates

1 ° If I do not check the "check box" of the first item: Everything seems to work as with 4.8 and all previous versions of OpenCPN. So ok.

2 ° If I check the "check box" of the first item, putting the value "0", in the second item: Then everything depends on the speed of reading requested in VDR, adjustable thanks to the cursor.
If the slider remains to the left (normal playback speed), the operation is similar to 4.8.
If the cursor is pushed all the way to the right (maximum reading speed), then there is a "strange" bug. There is a thick vertical red line and the boat's COG prediction arrow that becomes a red line from top to bottom of the screen. See the screenshot attached.

3 ° If I check the checkbox of the first item and if I choose a value of a few seconds, for example 5 seconds, this gives rise to aberrant things. For example, just after a tack, the boat continues to "look" in the previous direction, but moves in the new direction. It's pretty "over-realistic". Pfuuuuu ....

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10109

Dave,

To answer a question posed by an OpenCPN user, I checked that the download of the rasters cards from Argentina was doing well.

Once the download is complete, I observe that the maps are immediately added to the maps already declared in OpenCPN. That works well. That said, I personally prefer that OpenCPN ask if we want them to be added immediately before doing so.

2 ° I took the opportunity to test the display of the charts of Argentina on my Lenovo under Windows 10. I observe defects. See the screenshot.

Problem with ChartDownloader

(e.g.) Peru
Most kap charts as automatically unzipped are of size 0. You have to manualy unzip them....

1° I confirm what Sailor54 write.

2° In addition, you can not view maps that are uncompressed. And if I try to create a group of cards "Peru" by putting the cards of Peru, they disappear from this group of cards after having validated by "Ok".

However, I said that I was the victim of an internet break during this download. And maybe this explains this anomaly.

I restarted the test entirely, no internet break this time. Same problems.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10109

An observation using linux.
When resizing the main window the font size of the status bar is also adjusted so it will fit in the space available.
However if I resize using the system buttons in the upper right corner, I get small fonts in the full size window and big fonts in the small window.

Finally, I do not confirm what Sailor54 says.
The compressed files are well decompressed but in a strange way.
The folders they contain disappear from the list visible on the Sailor54 screenshot. But the files that are in these folders appear on Sailor54 screenshot.

I unzipped manually, all the ".rar" by keeping the folder structure that they contain and leaving the ".BSB" and ".KAP" files in the folders. See screen copy here joined.

Even practicing this way, I have not been able to display the charts.
