Also works for me on MBP Yosemite.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2410 Released

I have a similar problem to that which Iconoships describes, but it affects all non-modal dialog windows (at least sometimes, I'm not sure if it's always...).

For example, if I open the route properties dialog, and then close it, it closes.
But if I switch to another app and back, it reopens - behind the main window. (I can bring it to the front with Cmd-`.)
Close it again, switch away and back, it comes back. Etc.
I can only get rid of it by quitting OCPN.

Nice job on the zoom of raster charts.

Overall this version has a nice feel to me. It works well with an AIS feed over the WiFi on the boat. Running Windows 7 for this test, but will check with Ubuntu.

Cheers, ....Erik.

just tried this and i can reproduce it exactly as described above every time, switching away to any other app. will cause a dialog to reopen behind the main window, it seems to lock on to a particular dialog ....not always the last one closed

thanks

Formating of Options Window for Options > Ships > AIS the height limit is not quite tall enough for this Page, there is now way to make it tall enough to eliminate the scrollbar, and we can just barely see the bottom or the top in one view.

But this will depend on the device/screen you are working plus size of the window or Fullscreen.
In my case number of the items that need scrolling is even higher.
No problem I think.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2410 Released

Hi...

This relates to uploading routes and waypoints to a remote GPS over serial port.
FS#1593 : Nmea Transmission of a WPT NMEA sentence to a serial port

If you regularly do this, please test hard with 3.3.2410, and report relevant results. I can find no trouble with this when exercised on a fairly heavily loaded low spec netbook, so would expect less probability of problems with more powerful systems.

But more stress is better at this point.

Thanks
Dave

Dave

I can't turn off the NMEA streams. Deactivating all connections, pressing, Apply or OK does not stop the connections. I am forced to restart O.

Nothing like updating the documentation to find lurking little bugs....

MUCH better Quilt control! I can really see a huge difference between -5 to +5 now, as it need be to be useful.

I do think, though that the word "Quilt" or "Quilt Control", "Quilt Bias" should appear somewhere in its name ,rather than "ChartZoom/Scale Weighting"...?

Caesar/mo...

re orphan dialogs
"just tried this and i can reproduce it exactly as described above every time"

Unless I am not following the recipe correctly, I cannot reproduce this on Lion.

Could it be a Yosemite thing?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2410 Released

Hello Dave, Pavel,

There are a few new items with 332410. And in particular the item "Rotated mode".
- In which case it appears on the screen?
- What does it mean?

Thank you in advance. Gilletarom.

re:

I drove a wooden stake through the heart of that orphan stream.

In github now

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2410 Released

@jongough

Testing the new option:
Options->Ships->Own Ship->Advance route waypoint on arrival only.
I tested by creating a route and using "Move ship here". So there was no gps involved.
I have followed the discussion regarding the git pull request.

When two numbers are shown for range I have a hard time making out what they represent. They just don't fit anything I tried.

Can you elaborate a bit more on this feature?

From your git explanation
Quote:
This change, which is controlled via the options panel (I don't like the wording I have used, but it was a first pass), ensures the next waypoint stays active until you either reach it or you reach a point which is perpendicular from the marked route, i.e. you have a cross track error greater than the arrival radius. The route display shows this happening by the use of two numbers for range rather than 1.
Does this apply to the route before or after the current wpt?

Same request from me. Indeed, I do not understand the role of this item. Therefore, my translation in French, in the language file is probably bad.

Could be. I can't say; I don't have any other versions to test on at the moment.

Do you consider this a release blocker? If not, since a lot of work needs to be don on the windows and dialogs anyway, we can deal with this at the same time after release.
