Using Windows 7 - Evidently my GIT PULL did not include the particle feature in Grib (There was no check for Particle in the config page for wind)

However I just did a git pull and when compille get this error. Probably something small.

Sorry for this... it was actually a bug even on non-windows, it only breaks there. I have compiled for windows now, so when this is merged:

This is just initial support for the particle map. It could be much better in many ways and many possibilities to enhance it exist, however I wanted to keep it simple, feedback and patches very welcome.

OpenCPN compiled with Xcode v6.1, OS X SDK 10.10, wxWidgets 3.1.0 for Mac OS X seems to run faster onto the just released Mac OS X Yosemite OS.

Côte d'Ivoire should be "Côte d'Ivoire" and not garbled up in OpenCPN.

That being said, Côte d'Ivoire has requested to be called "Côte d'Ivoire" in any language, not only in French, and not having the name translated into "Ivory Coast", "Elfenbeinküste", etc. International organizations like UN, the World Bank, IMF, etc. recognise this, and so do the US State department, UK foreign office, etc. IMO this is the proper designation of the country in OpenCPN.

I noticed this first when testing Sean's particle map patch, but it may originate from some earlier patch.
I get distortions in the isobars, and sometimes wind arrows don't cover the supposed area, after changing to a different grib file.

Is this repeatable? Does it always occur reliably? Can you post the grib file?

Could you try reverting

Don't try the particle map (it may do something bad), but maybe it fixes the wind arrows and isobars? If so, it is really not a solution and something more should be done.

However I don't have a grib file with currents data to test this also.

We still need more wind arrows when scaling the chart however.

Yes it was repeatable. The Isobars at any time. Wind arrows yesterday but not today ...??
I reverted the patch, mentioned above, and could not repeat the funny isobars.

I tried Cagney's files and can't reproduce the broken isobars
But what is this "particle" patch for ? I didn't noticed any difference in the plugin displays ?

Thank you for testing. The last pull request should fix the issue.

I think this visualization is useful because you can more clearly see the front lines, and also the relative speeds are obvious where a color coded map it isn't the case. I tested briefly with currents, but i could use more testing.

Maybe some sort of visualization can be made for waves as well, but I am not sure how.

The next thing I have planned is automatic download of gribs via the web (not through email) as I hoped this would allow for more sources of data. For some reason, the url used by zyGrib doesn't seem to work for wxcurl... Does anyone know other sources for grib requests via http?
