Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1419 Released

Hi Dave,

Thanks for this new beta.

Just start testing (XP)

At first OpenGL is ON, then I switch to OpenGL Off and then I switch back to OpenGL ON, the backgroung of the screen is grey.

if I switch back to OpenGL Off, the background colors are the usual ones;

AISEAG

Check the status of the new switch "Always visible" in the settings for wind and pressure.

Thanks Thomas,

But when "always visible is selected" why do I still have the right to click/unclick the wind (or pressure) box ?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1419 Released

Ptizef's own comments, regarding the new features:

1- Suppress useless 'range' parameter for wind arrows and replace it by the possibility to set its 'always visible' even if the wind check-box is unchecked and the choice between standard color and values controlled colors as an alternative to the colored overlay.(#FS 1143)
2- add the possibility to set pressure isobars 'always visible' even if the pressure check-box is unchecked.
These possibilities allow to have the main weather informations (wind arrows and isobars) always displayed whatever overlay is selected.
3- Allow selected quickly the desired overlay and display only one at a time( the check-boxes in the main
window react nearly as radio-boxes)
This points concern discussions and some criticisms in the forum.
4- active the 'size' parameter for waves and current arrows (only default and small size) and add the possibility to choose between single and double arrows.(#FS1311)
5- Save only useful parameters to limit the .init file size.

Rebuilding the CM93 charts cured the grey screen problem.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1419 Released

Pressure seems to have disappeared from the GRIB view which is not good... otherwise I like the way the interface works now; being able to leave the wind arrows and pressure isobars up and switch between the other overlays. Very nice.

I just noticed that something strange is happening with tides but that might be from a previous version, or something else! My pc is set to UTC but tides are showing up two hours out "AST" shows at the bottom of the graph whatever that is? Any ideas if it's something from this version or was there before or is finger trouble.

Will test the barometric pressure dash tomorrow if I get a chance. Has the true wind history also been fixed?

If "Always visible" is checked, the wind arrows are always visible. But the rest, especially The chart and isochrones are displayed only if the "Wind" is checked (and if they are selected in the preferences)

Littlechay....

3.3.1419 made no known changes to tides/currents timezone logic.

Any more info?

btw, AST is Atlantic Std Time, Z+4 I think.

Littlechay...

The timezone shown on the tide chart is the timezone of the station that you are looking at. If it happens to be Z-4, then that gets interpreted as AST.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1419 Released

Hi,

Thanks a lot for "210. Implement Barometric history ... in Dashboard."

I try to test it on my VDR file from last trip.
I can't see histogram, maybe I must wait longer, but I think that one point in 5 minutes for barometric data will be OK.

Another issue is that if barometer give us [0 hPa] the scale is changed and data can't be well seen. Maybe it should be limit that min value would be [950 hPa].

And last small cosmetic thing that "hpa" should be seen as "hPa"

Again BIG thanks for this barometric history in Dashboard that's Great improvement for me.
