Hello,

1° No problem for 3.3.1117 install with W7 on ASUS EeePC.

2° It seem that now F6 work correctly. (FS#1183).

3° it seems that now change name is Ok in track manager (FS#1171)

I write also this in tracker (FS 1183 and FS 1171)

It seems that the pot file was updated yesterday, but when I use it with my last french tranlation version, there is no new item and no dead item ..

Is this normal ?

Forget the "status bar...".
Sorry it was a mistake.
But I confirm the other problem with the route manager, and specially with the delete function. After clicking on the delete button, nothing happens.All I can obtain is a beep when I try to click. No action possible, except to force to quit.

No problem for Grib plugin and Dashboard plugin :

The translation problems with Version 3.3.1006 appear to be resolved to display plugins Grib and dashboard.

Now everything seems to work correctly.

I have one item to be translated (isotachs) and as soon as that is done, I send you the French language version of the files for both plugins.

More about AIS Target Name font not changeable.
I've tried to change the font also on a Win 7 machine and it's also not changeable. What's more strange is that on W7 the numbers of menu points are fewer than on XP. See screen shots below
Both PCs, WinXP and Win7, has Language: Swedish (SE). ON XP the font menu item "AIS Target Name" is present but not translated. On W7 that menu item is not present.
With respect to AIS Target Name font change both PCs are working normal using beta 3.3.1006 but not on 3.3.1117.

Another observation for info:
The same systems as prev post.
Win7 using beta 3.3.1006:
Without OpenGL the AIS Target Name font size and font colour is able to change.
With OpenGL only the font size is changeable but not the colour. It's always black.
I can't use OpenGL on the XP machine so therefore not tested there.

AIS Target Name font and colour changes - again.
Now with a possible trace. I'll try to make it clear...
On Win XP so far. Still Swedish language.
In the tools menu - font - selection box there are for some reason two rows for the "AIS Target Name" the untranslated text as one item and the SE translation as another item, and the same in opencpn.ini.

The "AIS Målnamn" is the SE translation for "AIS Target Name"
Now when I change on "AIS Målnam" the new font and colour is used at the charts. Hurray!
But there is more to narrate. And now I'll make my best so try to follow:
When I first saw there was no translation on "AIS Target Name" I git-fetched the code and the PO files. Locked at the -sv-SE.po and it was translated but not with "Målnamn" as above but something else rather similar to another text. But I then tried to find the translated font menu item in OCPN. Yes, it was there but nothing happened when I changed. Then I git-fetched the code and changed the translation in -sv-SE.po and put the new .mo file to OCPN dir. Started OCPN and tried to change the font. The new name wasn't there! Looked in .ini and there was three rows for this font, The untranslated, the old and the new translations. I deleted the two SE-rows and restarted. And now -- the untranslated menu item and the new SE. And as said when I changed font with the new SE item it worked.
But I still wondering why both items are there??
Now I'll have look at the W7 machine... There is no translation to Swedish in the font menu at all.

And on Win7 the same pattern occurred.
I copied my sv-SE.mo file to that machine and after two program start, start-close-start again, the SE menu font item appeared and was functional. So the original opencpn-sv-SE.pot and .mo are maybe not quite good.
But also here two menu items; the translated and the untranslated.

My .po file, and the .mo are attached.

And to finalize?
On Win7 the AIS Target Name font can be changed but still not when I use OpenGL, then it's the default text size and colour.

And.. When I deleted the untranslated row in opencpn.ini the extra menu item disappeared.

1. There will be entries in the font list for each item that was encountered in display, for each language that was running at the time. So, if you make changes to a font while running English, for instance, and later to the same item while running in Swedish, for instance, then there will be duplicates for that item in the .ini file. This is normal.

2. 3.3.1117 changed the Swedish .po for "AIS Target Name" translation. So, the old font entry in the .ini file with the previous translation may be called an orphan, never to be referenced again.

3. The key to remember is that an item will not appear in the font list until it has actually been requested by the display generator. For example, if you never actually see an AIS target, and request its name to be shown, then the item "AIS Target Name" (or translation) will not be in the list yet. It will appear in the list only after the display generator requests the particular custom font for that item.

3. No ability to make font color changes on OpenGL is a known issue, I think. Maybe it should be entered in Flyspray, so it might get fixed...

4. So, all is well and understood now?

Thanks for your extensive info. Yes all is well and your info and my trials gave me a better understanding. So when I changed the untranslated font variable that value was overwritten by the unchanged translated value four rows down in the ini file, that's rather clear.
But when there was only the untranslated variable present in the ini file, why wasn't changes to that reflected? (The translated variable didn't show up before I changed the translation in the -SE.po file)

The new grib-plugin that has been around for a while, is maturing.....
Ptizef has put a lot of efforts into getting the plugin into shape.
