Now this thread is getting too long again

Thanks for your detailed report! The problem is discussed in detail on pages 1 & 3 of this thread, and has been fixed.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

Hello JesperWe, hello Dave,

Laziness to read the entire thread for versions 3.1.915 and 3.1.919. Perhaps the question has already been asked-such.

In the old "Toolbox", there was a item on the permanent layers. He disappeared from the new "toolbox".

What about?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

A bit late, but anyway...

All Mac users. Beta 3.1.919,dmg is now available for testing.

@Gilletarom
The item "Show layers initially" is gone from the new menu. Just a bit of cleaning up. It should not really have been in the 3.XX menu either, as it did nothing. The option had no effect, as all about layers visibility etc, has been handled through the Route Managers Layers tab for a long time.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

hello Thomas,

I thing that we do not speak of the same subject. The permanent layers or initial layers are not present in the route manager layers.

These kind of layers are different than the "normal layers". it was necessary to place these layers in a special folder and then when the item was checked, these kind of layers was displayed.

I see nothing, now, in the Layer manager of the 3.1.919 about the initial layers.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

Hi,
When moving chart center somewhere north of 70'00N, in my case some secret fishing spots close to Tromsö/Norway, CM93 charts disappears .

I have tried most of the chart display settings both on Win7 and XUbuntu but no difference. All back to normal when I reinstalled 3.02. Please see attachment för details.

Nothing in the route manager, and the handling of layers has changed, as far as I know, in 3.1.919. The layers are working the way they used to, and the way it's described in the documentation.

Check the location of your "layers" directory if you have problems!

For the record, this issue is fixed by Dave for next beta and in current master. A chart database rebuild will be needed to activate the fix.

Zooming in,I find my ownship icon.
There is an intermittent bug in this beta that can cause the ownship icon to disappear randomly. It is fixed for the next release.

Bug report.

Use the keyboard to zoom in and out using the + and - keys causes the auto follow mode to disengage.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Is there any specific reason for you to use this beta version ?.

If No, may I suggest you to switch to the actual stable version (3.2.2 - available since may 2013) and the latest beta version (3.3.1931 - available since end of July), you will be surprised by the new set of functionalities.
