Windows: In this release it's not possible to select language in User interface.
What happened here???

Yeah that was the problem I was trying to fix, but I was a little to fast...

A proper fix has been committed.

Works perfectly fine here. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "not possible"?

Sounds like a broken install. I haven't checked the installer SethDart made, will do so now...

Last install screen "Disclaimer" is also in English when I have selected Norsk (Norwegian) as language for The installation.
Tried to uninstall the whole lot, deleted the folder, and installed from scratch. Still the same problem. Only English available from the toolbox language selector.

The folder "share" is only containing the "doc" subfolder... Not the language files...

Yup, the installer is clearly broken with regard to languages.
(Nohal, our usual windows packager, is at sea, so we are left with less experienced ones like me and SethDart...)

I am uploading a fixed one with the most recent POT to

[EDIT location pending, having connection problems...]

...but I don't have write access to the homepage so I can't update that one.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

Jesper..

Just downloaded 3.1.919 which seems to work ok for most of the functions I have tested,BUT,I have lost MY ship? No indication at all allthough the ownship.xpm icon is in the Usericons directory.

When I connect my GPS,it locates ownship at lat 0 lon 0
Zooming in,I find my ownship icon.

The connections panel has been changed but I inserted the correct COM: where they belong although there is no mention of GPS? just NMEA?

Correction, ´ownship´just returned to it´s home port from a long journet from Africa... Must be my AIS receiver..

ownship´icon is only visible when the GPS is working. Is that a new thing? Previously the ownship icon was always present, black when not connected and red when connected to the GPS.

We had half a meter of water ON TOP of the pier we're moored to, which was kind of good because all the boats would have crashed into the pier otherwise, now they went over it instead. Some rudders were centimeters from crushing. All the boats moving around had fenders popping out all over the place, once cleanly routed mooring lines getting stuck and snapping as a result of chafe etc etc.

Not the day to sit down and do an OpenCPN build...
I know, it was nasty and long. My boat dragged 20 meters then the danforth got stuck on something and the boat is ok (34° 25.5' S 57° 20.6' W). Ask around what happened there in 2005. A lot of boats sunk. But today is a glorious day. Good luck.

On topic: this release works very well on debian 6 amd64, the only problem that remains (that I know of) is the residues on the screen after minimizing the window (same as before).

JesperWe & SethDart: No problem, you two do a great job. Everybody can't be perfect
Something else: Who merges changes of the language files now then? I have usually emailed the files to bdcat... It would be nice to be able to upload the files to GitHub each time when they are done.
I'm laying a final hand on the Norwegian translation of beta 919...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

OK, SethDart fixed the installer so I scrapped my attempt to upload.

Reasons not to work on OpenCPN:

Notice bike by red arrow, parked on what is usually the pier... This was yesterday in Piriapolis, on the Rio de la Plata.

For now we stick to the established procedure. Dave is just having a good lot of work and bad Internet for a few days...

Making all the translators collaborators on the master repo is probably not a good idea. But maybe we could have a separate language repo on Github, with all the translators as collaborators.

This would make the process more transparent, but also require a bit more work when releasing....?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.919 Released

Maybe you are right JesperWe.
But if i'm not mistaken there are just one translator per language atm. and if we could keep it that way it would maybe not be a bad idea to be able to update the language repo. Maybe restricting the translation collaborators to just the language part of the repo.
