Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

I am incredulous at how fast things move here. Jesper thank you for the Options improvements!! a ...and your help & suggestions getting to 3.1.915 when my branch was behind "origin/master" by 34 commits.

"Git merge master" Response: already up to date. "git reset<space>--hard origin/master -14 objects, compressed, unpacked...done. Then git fetch.

Thank you All!

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

I'm not having any trouble when I "install" direct from the exe in xp. Tried it a couple of ways, deleting the settings folder and all too. "Charts" dialogue comes up nicely after the disclaimer .

I wonder where anchor watch or alarm went. -Perhaps it could become a property of a Mark at some point, to enable more flexible use.

-Just realized it has to be a loose waypoint to show Anchor watch. Sorry. It works.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

Hello Beta Testers....

From the thread:
Code:
FTAO - The Development Team

You may not yet have noticed but a compiled version of the latest beta for use by the vast number of Windows users has still not been posted.

Is there any logical reason for this ????
Actually, there is an excellent reason for this.
OpenCPN is developed by a team of volunteers, some of which have day jobs, families, and other important parts of their lives. Some of us actually go sailing from time to time

Please keep this in mind as you chomp at the bit....

We appreciate your continued support.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

Hi developpers,

With Windowa 7 and XP, OpenCPN crashes when re-installing the charts if the BSB 4 plugin is installed. If you remouve it, everything goes normally.
Any solution or is it only me ?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

!! Attention all Windows testers with the Options Window crash !!

So far we have not been able to reproduce this bug in a controlled environment, so we need your help in pinning down what's happening.

There is an opencpn.exe available in http://journeyman.se/opencpn/opencpn.zip which has a first set of tracing printouts, it would be great if you could try this one, and if it crashes post the last lines of your logfile.

To test it: Your 3.1.914 installation directory is protected by UAC, so you should do the following:

- Download and unzip the above linked file in your user directory or desktop.
- Navigate to your 3.1.914 installation and rename the opencpn.exe to opencpn.orig.
- Copy the unzipped opencpn.exe from your user directory into the 3.1.914 installation directory.

Run it, open the Options window, hope it crashes and post the log back here.

If it doesn't crash at this point I would also like to hear that.

We might have to do this a couple of times before finding the exact problem spot.

The log lines I am looking for will be something like below, what is important is where in this sequence the crash happens.

9:03:52 AM: GPS Watchdog Timeout is: 6 sec.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

Jesper..

This version runs PERFECTLY having done a quick check around of a number of facilities.

I´m keeping it as the new v. 3.1.915 until an official version comes along. Thanks..

Tore

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

Jesper, Is it possible the there is some problem in the compiled exe download?

The git debug version seems to work fine (w/o GPs) and Options window comes up and have exercised the settings in each tab, however I have no Nmea stream and no plugins. Have used vector and bsb charts.

There is one small thing, I seem to be missing the tab Icons in the Options popup window.

It has not crashed yet for me. Win7 -used with and without OpenGL (did not comprehensively toggle on, close options, and toggle off options in OpenGL but it seems to work OK)

Regarding Options Window Crash

Thanks to all who have sent back logs, the problem is now located (but not yet explained!)

So I don't need any more logs posted
