Thomas:
Would you be willing to share your secrets with me for building the Mac OS version of OpenCPN? The instructions on the O web page do not work for me.

Thanks,
Freddie

Noticed an error in the Windows installer.
Somehow it reads "Norwegian" instead of "Norsk"... Please change this.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

All:
I have the same problem on Mac OS 10.7.4.
This window comes up upon initialization:

The log file show this:
15:03:25 PDT: 2012-09-16
15:03:25 PDT: ------- Starting OpenCPN -------
15:03:25 PDT: Version 3.1.915 Build 2012-09-15
15:03:25 PDT: wxWidgets version: wxWidgets 2.8.12
15:03:25 PDT: MemoryStatus: mem_total: 0 mb, mem_initial: 0 mb
15:03:25 PDT: SData_Locn is /Applications/OpenCPN_3.1.915/OpenCPN.app/Contents/SharedSupport/
15:03:25 PDT: Using existing Config_File: /Users/freddie/Library/Preferences/opencpn.ini
15:03:25 PDT: No styles found at: /Applications/OpenCPN_3.1.915/OpenCPN.app/Contents/SharedSupport/uidata/
15:03:25 PDT: No styles found at: /Users/freddie/Library/Preferences/opencpn/
15:03:25 PDT: No styles found at: /Users/freddie/Library/Preferences/opencpn/.opencpn/
15:03:25 PDT: The requested style was not found:

The Mac does not have an installer. It has a DMG package which is supposed to have all the needed files and support stuff in it. In this case it first looks inside the image called "OpenCPN.app". When you look inside the uidata file or folder its looking for is missing. I looked inside the DMG image file that is downloaded but the "uidata" file is not there anywhere. Perhaps there is an add file line missing in cmake build script somewhere.

Thanks,
Freddie

Could you describe in more detail what you are doing? I don't understand what "auto-creating a rhumb line" is. Also what platform you are running on, please.

FTAO - The Development Team

You may not yet have noticed but a compiled version of the latest beta for use by the vast number of Windows users has still not been posted.

Is there any logical reason for this ????

Fix for Options window icons for Debian 6 and Ubuntu 10.04 committed.
The icons become a bit jagged but they work.

(BTW, dpons, I'm back in Piriapolis since this afternoon... ;-)

Happy! I can't make my marks move by double clicking.....

Thomas

I too can get the marks to move by double clicking them. For example if the icon is a triangle I double click on the apex and it will center the mark on the spot I double clicked. I if I double click dead center and don't move the cursor the mark will not move. I just tried a square icon with similar effects. I have the lock box checked.

Get ready for some nasty weather this Wed. My boat is still in the west part of the country, yet I may see you there.

(Thanks for confirming, wdkester).
It's definite motion for me. Make sure the chart is panned so the waypoint is nearer the side of the screen before you double click it. It needs be one that is not going to be obscured by the dialogue when it opens.Click-n-drag the dialogue window to the other side of the screen too, for clarity. ' doesn't matter which sides.
When you do get it to move-and it's easy to see- the position itself actually changes in the dialogue too .It's only 00.000133 in latitude and -000.000033 in longitude on a single twitch on my large scale chart , but it adds up and is disconcerting to see.

PS I wonder if it's more obvious on my low res 1024x768
screen...?

PSS oh Jesper sees it too. ...well wasted post but let it stay.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.915 Released

Marks that move when Double Clicking (FIXED):

I guess the reason some people see this and some don't comes down to what mouse is used. Especially if your using a touch-pad there will be very small changes in location sometimes, causing the mouse driver to generate a single small distance Dragging event.

And even if Marks are locked you now have the Mark properties window open, which means that they are open to edit...

I have fixed this by filtering out isolated Dragging events from the event manager.
