Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.802 Released

Running OpenCPN on Winows Vista, when chart quilting is enabled and a raster chart is displayed if I hover the mouse pointer over the chart selection buttons on the bottom row I see the chart name for the chart that is displayed but not for any of the other charts. If I turn off chart quilting I'll see the name of any raster chart over which I hover the mouse pointer.

I'm pretty sure I remember correctly that in previous versions the names of raster charts appeared when the mouse pointer hovered over their selection button even with quilting enabled.

Hmm... Are you by any chance running in OpenGL mode and using an nVidia graphics card?

When creating a route the yellow popup now only shows the leg distance. Earlier both leg- and route distance were shown.
Intentional or regression?

Um... Regression. Since a long time ago, like 2.6.
I will take care of it in my upcoming GC patch.

Funny nobody noticed, it has been broken since September last year
Fix is in my KMLSupport branch, I rewrote that method anyway.

(for what it's worth) per fgd3's problem, on my XP everything is A-OK.
Chart names appear for all quilted charts when hovering over the chartbar , OpenGL or not.

Yeah I'm scared it is another OpenGL driver that doesn't like GDI windows on top of GL. This will keep coming back to bite..

I apologize, I was not reading your first post very carefully.
I see now what you are referring to. I was too caught up with the other piano window issues so I assumed too quickly you were referring to the same thing!

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.802 Released

OK, various updates on the chart info window:

First: The issue fgd3 brings up is that the full chart info is available for ALL charts when NOT running in quilted mode, but only for loaded charts when in quilted. This is because in quilted mode the unloaded charts are not in the chart cache, but in non-quilted they are, for reasons that I don't understand. So over to Dave on that one...

Second: There are a couple of problems in this beta that hasn't been reported, regarding positioning of the chartinfo window in non-qulited mode, and also the size of the chart thumbnails (5x5 pixel is hard to see...) I have pushed fixes for those.

Third: There ARE problems with the chart info window under OpenGL with nVidia drivers. Same with thumbnails. Thumbnails disappear. Chartinfo sometimes too, or sometimes displays as text without background.

Hello,

With 3.1, it is possible to hide the MOB icon in the icon barr.

I thing that this is not a good idea.

AIS class B targets are not shown on the screen!
They appear in the "AIS target list" and show a roll over if you manage to find them with your cursor.

Well..... I do like to hide the MOB button in OpenCPN, because on our boat I use a different system to initiate MOB alarm and tracking of "last known position" (Raymarine LifeTags and NavMonPc). So, YES, I do want the ability to make this MOB button disappear in O!
