I checked the option "Show AIS targets real size" but don't see any difference, even after zooming in where the ship size should fill the screen. Anyone has this working? how?

Win XP-SP3 opengl=off

Edit: found it. Maybe the display of the ship size is bit too subtle. But it works. see screenshot.

P_Dub...

Please publish your modified HARMONIC files to allow debug of the display issues you report.
We are not sure if your problems are the same as others reported.
For instance, in your attached image, I note that the units "knots" are printed. This usually means that the calculation is correct. But the data seems wrong.

So, we need your HARMONIC and HARMONIC.IDX to check.

Thanks
Dave

sailorF54...

Thanks for the HARMONICS.

They work fine for me, linux and Windows

Any particular locations that are trouble?

How subtle? Is the ship display size correct, in real terms?

How subtle: I would have thought to replace the AIS triangle with the real ship size, depending on zoom level. Don't forget to draw the bow...

Correct ship size: The box around the AIS target represents the correct ships size, I verified with the measurement tool in O. Also the GPS sensor location on the ship seems to be correct. I compared the display to NavMonPc and in matches. See screenshots.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.802 Released

Dirk...

Ah, I see.
Maybe at some large scale, say if the actual size on screen will be more 10 mm, we should draw a picture of a boat, with LOA and beam represented.

Probably look like a supertanker.

Thanks

All locations are wrong (W7).
See one example in a post of mine above
Again, predictions with 3.1.802 (pic #1, incorrect) vs 3.0.2 (pic#2,correct) at Perros-Guirec, Northern Brittany, France (lat/long on pic)

@JesperWe
Your exe-file to give åäö is working in this release, but the icons will only stay in the traditional style (no option to choose Journeyman style)
Also the AIS icon is lost.
Thanks for good work

Very strange things happens with the tides.
The tide changes depending on what tidal files are loaded, both idx and tcd, just one of those and the order of loading. I have not (yet) nailed down a pattern.

You have no problems...... Could that indicate a locale problem with the date format???

Look at this. First the idx file. There are just a few minutes between these pics.

No no no, that's not the way to do it

Taking an .exe from 3.0 and putting into a 3.1 directory will still give you 3.0. Plus probably some new incompatibilities as you have seen.

I might at some point build a new åäö-version, but not until we have something that is reasonably stable. The current betas have loads of new code and many problems, so not yet...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.802 Released

Re tide...
Nothing seems wrong with the computation itself (deleting the default files and inserting the alternative ones gives correct results) but there is something fishy going on when I try to select the default/ alternative Harmonic files...
I cannot switch between the two sets...and the computation is wrong

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.802 Released

Hi there....

OK, on the Tide/Current bug.

Bug found, it was a (simple?) counting error in the case of multiple data sources resident at one time. Error depended upon which type of data source is loaded, and the loading order thereof.

Solution: Clear enough, fixed and pushed to github master.

Workaround for non-source builders with 3.1.802: Use only one data source at a time. May be either type, IDX or tcd.

Sorry for the goose chase.

On the waypoints tab in route manager, the icon graphics do not appear in the icon column.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.802 Released

Jim, are the wpt-icons still visible on the chart when they are blank in the routemanager?
and,.... any joy by clicking the blank space? This works ok for me-clicking on the icon makes em disappear or reappear in both route-manager and chart....
