On that subject: I've played around a lot trying to find the best factors to use when sizing fonts to fit in the status bar. I have found it basically impossible to come up with settings that work across all different screen sizes. That was one of the main motivations in making the font user selectable. For example, on Windows and a standard WXGA screen the current
position was always cut off with the old default font, even though that one was very tiny on smaller screens.
Even with the user selectable fonts, you still end up having to go to a pretty tiny font to get everything to display on a small window.
It would be nice to improve this situation. Now looking at the label texts... Do we really need them? The info in each box is always the same anyway, and they waste a lot of space. If I get rid of some of the worst space wasting text, I get something like this:
Looses a few ":", "Cursor", "From ownship", "True" and "Zoom".
Size of scale and ship fields slightly increased.
Allows to set a much
larger font before texts start to get cut off.
