Now you are working with the master github branch, not the beta, right ?

Please see Daves message above!

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.714 Released

Hello,

Sorry, I edit my last post and ... destroyed, by chance, a great part of the post

So new here :

In opencpn.ini file, there was two line one "StatusBar" and "Barre d'état". I destroyed the line "Status Bar"

I run OpenCPN,
1° I Change the heigth of font without problem.

2° I use VDR with the same test file
The black ICON is appeared
No crash.

3° I desallow WMM
No crash

4° I re-allow WMM
No crash
WMM Icon is displayed correctly now.

BUT The WMM icone not display the variaion. Is it normal ?

See two screen copy in my previous post.

B.R.

Oh. Translated names in the .ini file. That is probably not very smart... Change language a few times and we have lots of multiple entries. But I guess it has always been that way.

Plugins that are not compiled against 3.1b libraries seems to be broken in a few ways right now.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.714 Released

Hi All
Test 3.1.714 with XP and Vista

Route active :
1 ) Console texts are not display in "traditional" style (see shot 3.1.712-1 attached )
I have changed the font-color values in the style.xml file attached )
It is better with other styles
2) there is a rectangle around the texts (see shot 3.1.714-2/3 attached )
This rectangle is visible only with certain police style and depend of the GUI style
For the "traditional" style , this rectangle disappears when I set "0" the width and eight parameters in the style.xml file , but this do not work for the other styles

Yes it is but it is dark grey on black, so it's not very visible. For Traditional, it should be bright green like it was in 3.0. I have changed that for next beta.

The intent is to have the background be a softer grey gradient instead of the harsh solid black. You have set a very large font, which makes the background too small. I'll make it bigger to reduce the risk of this happening.

In fact it works for all styles if the font-color are changed (for example to green (0;250;0) )

One question : would it be possible to change the font-color in console legend or value / choose font ?

Everything is possible
It's just a question of how much work it is.
We do not have any color selection in the GUI at the moment, so it would be lots of work to implement that.
It's much easier to get it from the XML setup.

Removed the WMM plugin, as you mentioned funny icon behaviour, and this plugin is indeed update the icon picture 'life'. After deleting wmm.so it looks to be okay.

So it turns out the original code I had was good after all. The problem is the WMM plugin supplies a pointer to data that goes out of scope. In older versions this was not a problem because wxWidgets did it's own copy of the data.

This means that 3.1 will need a new version of the WMM plugin for it to run properly.

So: For all Plugin developers: Make sure that you supply the plugin manager with icon bitmap pointers that stay allocated until next icon update.

Just to be clear at least in 3.0.2 the MOB mark disappears after a restart.

You would have to be very unlucky to have a computer crash while recovering a MOB (political correctness recommends Person Over Board. This also works for Pet Over Board, but I digress). But I think I would rather have the MOB persist across restarts.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.714 Released

Looking at #7 in Dave's list.
This generally works OK.
There is a problem, however, when O already shows a CPA line.
The right click menu still offers to Show CPA, but this, of course, changes nothing. The menu entry should really offer to hide the CPA line i such a case.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.714 Released

In nightime viewing, the Google Earth and WMM plugin icons do not dim (maybe I just need to update them?) Also, the GPS status box in the upper right corner do not dim properly.

Also, still no HDG readout in the dashboard (when connected to AIS).

Not sure why some of the screenshots posted show the old icon format in the toolbar and my icons are completely different. I'm sure I'll figure it out as soon as I send this.

Also, I do not see anything added in the route properties to "copy to clipboard" and I can not edit waypoints in the route properties dialog.

Go to settings / user interface to change the style if you want the old icons.

I'll look at the dimming issues.
