Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Just an idea: there has been a faulty Windows patch from Microsoft these days impacting on fonts.

This gets repaired with a MS patch published today (KB2753842) .

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

The ubuntu packages are now available.

I can't connect a USB BU353 via /dev/ttyUSB0 neither on a 32 bits nor on a 64 bits system. Gpsd works fine.
Anyone else with the same problem?
The nmea is coming in, and is correct.

Regarding #109
I expect that rolker comes back with more details.

The implementation of area messages, now displays the transmitted message, while just the areas were marked earlier.

For testing open http://vislab-ccom.unh.edu/ais/notices.aivdm. Copy the text to a text file. Load this file with the VDR plugin. Have a look at the area around N42, W70.
Double click and have a look at the Object Query dialog. The AIS messages are on top. This Object Query works even with Raster Charts, but then the AIS message is the only thing shown in the dialog.
Nice development!
I find it difficult to see the green circle on the picture above. I think that a sharper, more distinct outline is called for.

Release Beta 3.1.1220

Notes:
96. This may be the silver bullet that fixes Prolific USB-Serial adapters on Win7/64. So far, my local testing has been flawless. Please hit this configuration hard if you have Win7 and a Prolific USB device. This also relates directly to the BU-353 GPS hockey puck. If you experience a drop-out failure that does not reconnect automatically, please make note of your Prolific driver version, as listed in the Windows Device Manager. This will be important.

105/114. New translatable strings embedded. Please update your .po files as able.

Status:
We are getting very close to freezing the feature set for OCPN 3.2. Now would be a good time to bump any last minute features or other ideas that you feel strongly about.

Please check your Flyspray tasks, and request closure if you are satisfied, or leave more information if not. We need to close most, if not all, of the Beta31 FS tasks before we release the official version 3.2.

Thanks for your continued testing support!

Good Luck
Dave
Hello, Thanks for a top program, but we are happy enough.
I have a great desire, that when a Right Click on the waipunkt and then select view image
as part OpenCpn programs in two map to the right and detailed picture to the left.
As in picture.
I am aware Extended Marks | Official OpenCPN Homepage
Images must be in a specific folder in OpenCpn. so I can export photos and GPX file so it will work with the recipient. Photos moved by https://www.dropbox.com/install
Or another.
Has over 600 ports and outports in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, which, over time, in chunks of approximately, 30 places
Merry Christmas and good wishes for 2013, Roger

IT'S A MIRACLE! O restarted the usb gps all by herself when the computer awoken from being "suspended" So maybe I won't NEED Xport anymore!!

PS ' love that O doesn't cry about missing GPS anymore..It was always pretty plain if it was working or not without being hauled up short.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Hi Dave,

For me, sometimes the boat is going normally, sometimes it is going sideway. Never had that before, except in 3.1.1206.

Other point : when I open Opencpn, I have no status bar. I have to click on resize window button and then on expand window button to get it coming. Settings are good in toolbox : show status bar is on.
On the picture the status bar you can see is the one of Firefox, should be the Opencpn one...

Little more : point 102. Make last GPS upload port persistent. Doesn't seem to work. I have used /dev/garmin. Works fine, but next upload, it comes back to ttys0.

This version doesn't seem to crash often like 3.1.1206. No one for instant.

No more comment now, I have uploaded this version just 15 mn before anchorage...

Just to understand correctly: boat icon is pointing N, 0 deg as if there is no COG or HDG input?

bcn,

Not all the time in north direction, sometimes north east (for instant). And COG and SOG were there because the boat was following the route very well.

Roger

To sum it up you want to display one picture belonging to a wpt with just 2 clicks. Today you can display as many pictures as you like, for each wpt, by double-clicking a wpt and then select a link to a picture, say 3 clicks.
A suggestion has been discussed a while ago, that, say, Ctrl clicking a wpt, would bring up the first link. That would be an advantage, in my mind.

Two more questions:
- only in 3.1.1206 or in 3.1.1220 as well?
- is your autopilot fed by OpenCPN or directly by another plotter (to know if only the boat icon is not drawn correctly or if OpenCPN does not read the COG/HGD well)?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Hello Dave,

3.1.1220. It seem all is OK.

Working here with waypoint of route :

Using a route, I copy a waypoint. The name of this WP is 003.
I paste it at same place. The name of this WP is NM001
Then I put this waypoint in an other place on the screen.
Then I copy anover the WP 003
Then I paste it at the same place The name of this new WP is also NM001

So there is many WP with the same name ... Is it possible to change this ?

2° I Create a route
I paste one of the WP of this route (here WP 003 and the new as name NM001).
So there is two WP at the same place.
I create an other route using a point near these two WP.
OpenCPN ask me if I want to use the old WP.
I said yes

My idea was to use the WP NM001
OpenCPN do not ask me if I want use 003 or NM001
OpenCPN use automatically the WP 003.

In this case, is it possible that OpenCPN ask that WP I want to choice ?

B.R.

Gilletarom.
