OpenCPN Version 4.2.1724 Beta (RC1) will soon be available for download from opencpn.org.

Monitor the opencpn.org Downloads page to find and download the latest Beta version binaries.....

21. Correct crash on some very large GRIB2 files.
22. Correct GRIB current direction value tracking error, off by 180 degrees.
23. Correct errors in track colour/width settings for OpenGL.
24. Correct GRIB wind barb pen width on openGL.
25. Correct GRIB overlay performance loss on OpenGL with large textures.
26. Correct quilt projection persistence on quilt mode toggle.
27. Correct keyboard focus return on linux systems (FS#1684)


Notes:

I consider this Release to be a good Release Candidate.
This means that barring truly universal and/or egregious bugs, this will be the O4.2.2 production release.

Please check and clear your Flyspray tasks, if applicable.

I'd give it a try during a 500 nm race next week, but I need weatherrouting for the race and the latest downloadable weather routing version doesn't support the new grib plugin ***sigh*** ...
So kind of a deadlock.

At least 1724 starts normally and seems to work with my new tactics plugin ...

Let's see if I can run it with the old 4.2.0 grib plugin version and weather routing ... But then you won't get feedback for grib...

Sorry, I don't have much time to fiddle around now, I'm leaving for the race tomorrow morning and I have to pack the car now.

OpenCPN beta 4.2.1724 (from OpenCPN.org download page) and my (Windows VS 2013) build of weather_routing_pi 1.83 this morning are working with a wind grib (grib2) from NOMADS. The source for weather_routing_pi was after seandepagnier merged pull request #39 from did-g/new_grib update to new grib plugin record format.

If I try to combine latest windows compiles (VC2013) of grib and weatherrouting with zygrib files it either crashes O directly, or weatherrouting says "Computing ..." and hangs up forever, nothing happens...


Latest weather routing only works with an older grib version from 4.2.0 ...

Just tried a build of Sean's current wx-routing, with grib2 of current + GFS grib using Ov4.2.1716 and it ran a routing with no problem. Perhaps zygrib is slightly different? --should not be though. I did have Use "Currents" checked, so it must have been using the currents.grb2 file.

I will upload the grib files and wx-routing plugin on Ocpn Beta File Thingie.
However I believe Sean is continuing to work on the interface and there will be other updates probably, though he has not replied.

The raster chart BSB4 (bsb4_pi-1.4-win32.exe) does not seems to work
with CHS BSB4 newly downloaded and registered version.
Anyone can help.

The Plugins is still showing the same as not working but the charts are shown correctly. Maybe some one can improve the plugin for the 4.2.1724 edition!

All looks fine and normal to me.

It indicate that the version of the Plugin is not compatible with this version of OpenCpn. Nevertheless, the charts are still OK, except for one thing I notice, when the OpenGL is on, the chart border are getting blurred when zooming.
I believe this as been reported at one time.
