Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.925 Release

This week NOAA updated just about every raster chart in their catalog. While the chart downloader plugin was updating over 1K charts O crashed. If anyone wants a crash dump I can PM a link.

@Ptizef...

JP, regarding the disappearing cm93 detail...

Are your two test cases as shown absolutely reproducible, or just occasional?

Thanks
Dave

@transmitterdan...

I would like to see a crash dump, if convenient.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.925 Release

@Ptizef...

JP...
Never mind my previous. I can reproduce the problem.
Do this:

1. Pan to say Bishop Rock, center screen West of Greenwich.
2. Close O
3. Open O, zoom in and out at Bishop Rock.
4. Pan east to Lorient.
5. Observe that detail on zoom is lost.

Obviously a problem with Lon0 crossing. I'll look into it.

Thanks
Dave

Chart CM93 2011. Some details disappeared when zooming. You can find two examples in the screen shots attached
first example in S1-S2
in S1 the details are shown. Zooming on a bit and the details disappeared in S2.
Second example in S3-S4-S5
in S3 the details are shown. zooming on a bit and the details disappeared in S4. Then zooming on a bit more and the details are shown again in S5.

I've the same CM93 experiences in WinXP & W7, VS2010 build. (Lat 58 Lon 11)

And BTW is the install.log empty for me as well.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.925 Release

zooming with a scale inferior to the scale of the ENC S57, say a chart 1/15000 to a scale 1/16000 or less automaticly change the chart to the next smaller scale chart. This must be a bug in the version 4.1.925

Plugins BSB, Climatology, EUTidal currents, OTcurrent, Route do not work anymore.

Best regards.

Yes you are right

If it can help I have another scenario
pan to a place were you have never zoomed before.
zoom on : no detail at all
exit O and reopen ( so at the same position and scale )
the details are here.
I reproduce that in many places
see shots S6 and S7 for one example
but once the details are displayed I found that it was difficult to reproduce at that position

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.925 Release

JP, Dave...
For me it's very reproducible. It happens "all the time" also in the same place. I think it's a quilt problem. In my three views I'm moving the chart by the arrow keys, same zoom level.
As soon the left chart part leaves the screen details are there(pic2), moving back so the left part is again visible details are gone(pic3).

Toolbar docked to the top or bottom of screen:
- click on icon (or toolbar if visible)
- click on options and toolbar remains behind dialog then condenses to icon after 5sec delay
- make change and OK -> icon disappears and restart needed

Toolbar displaced 5cm down screen
- click on icon or toolbar
- click on options, dialog opens and toolbar disappears
- make change and OK -> toolbar reappears and condenses to icon after 5secs
- now icon remains and toolbar can be activated

Quite repeatable: but the icon also disappears randomly while panning

Could you post the exact lat and lon with all decimals or a clearer screenshot? I will try to reproduce and resolve this. And it isn't an issue in single chart mode correct?

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.925 Release

Sean...

Hakan's reported problem is not related to Projections/Regions merge. It crept in between 4.1.409 and 4.1.602. I am bisecting now to discover the cause. I'll let you know the results.

The problem that JP(ptizef) reported is real, easily reproduced by my recipe. I am almost certain this is coming from new region logic around Lon0.

Gilletarom...

Its nice to see you back online.
Have you succeeded to load your new chart? If not, could you post or send it to me?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.925 Release

chartdldr_pi.cpp : line 1796

Code:
void ChartDldrPanelImpl::onDLEvent(OCPN_downloadEvent &ev)
{
    wxString msg;
    msg.Printf(_T("onDLEvent  %d %d"),ev.getDLEventCondition(), ev.getDLEventStatus());
    wxLogMessage(msg);
is flooding the log file when charts are downloaded.

Added on Aug 17, commit e907.
