Nothing jumps out at me. My next step would be to uninstall 4.1.602 and reinstall it. How do I do that in Ubuntu Linux? When I run the Software Updater it tells me everything is up to date.

If you installed OpenCPN using a .deb file: 'apt-get remove opencpn (or OpenCPN)' <enter>

If installed from source delete /usr/share/opencpn, /usr/bin/opencpn, /usr/lib/opencpn. 'cd' to the 'build' directory in the OpenCPN source. 'make clean'<enter> then compile and install as normal...

Are you running with OpenGL on? Please try both on and off, and report results.

I have wxWidgets-3.0.2 installed on my ARM board now, but it made no difference.

The chart selector toolbar is still under OpenCPN.

You have either moved the downloaded dmg file to your applications folder and tried to start it there or the downloaded dmg file is corrupted.
Download the file again, open it in Finder and copy the included OpenCPN.app file seen in the dmg window to applications folder.

Hi all

Netbook windows 8.1

I had plenty of problems with 4.1.602 when creating-modifying or dragging routes and way points. After re-installing 4.0, it was the same !
So I removed all files & O application and done a new clear install.
The problems disappeared ( except one which is new in 602, see #1785).
I don't know how it has appended, but it is.

But I have another problem with AIS : Targets not shown. Sometime one or two targets appears, then almost immediately disappears whereas I am in a zone where there are numbers.
I re-install 4.0 and it works. then I re-install 602, it doesn't work. With the same devices, the same environment, the same parameters.
Am I the only one to face this problem ?

After 3 times it's finally working

Another problem, the app is freezing just after launch, I've just accepted the disclamer and it freezed. Force close and relaunch are not helping. No more informations about the problem yet.

4.1.406 is still a beta version and should used only by experienced users to help to find bugs. Among other things the path to supplementary setting files has changed and that might cause your freeze. I don't kow however. Use the stable version 4.0.0 instead.

Mystery solved, sort of. I reinstalled OpenCPN with no improvement. Then I checked the "Select All" box under the list of Mariner's Standard object types. I don't know what data type got checked that wasn't checked before, but the gray background was replaced with the colors I'm used to seeing.

When I use the "official" beta release , which as been compiled with wx3.02 library and VS2013 I suppose, it doesn't work. If I use a home-made compilation with wx2.8 library and VS2010, it works perfectly. (I am not yet ready to migrate to VS2013)
I've installed VS2013 distributable X64/X86, but that change nothing
What could be missing on my machine?

By "doesn't work" you mean the program does not work at all or you refer to this particular AIS problem?
