Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Hello Dave,

I just made a new test with the NV-Verlag and OpenCPN 411022 cards.
- I could easily remove the charts folder (containing the NV-Verlag charts) in the "Options"
- Replace the record charts with another folder of charts that also contains charts of NV-Verlag.

The updating of the database seems to have proceeded normally.

BUT when I wanted to show my marine card, I had a crash OpenCPN 411022. This crash took place in two stages.
- First, a window announced that the crash report module had stopped working. See screen copy.
- When I closed the first window, a second window has announced that OpenCPN had stopped working (I have not made a screenshot).

Now OpenCPN 4.1.1022 crash every time I try to restart it.

Then I try to run OpenCPN 4.0. All is Ok. I can display the NV-Verlag charts normally.

Then I try to run 0penCPN 4.1.1022. He worked a short time. Then the same two-step crash occurred when I tried to select a NV-Verlag chart in the charts bar.

Here join also a zip file with 3 crash reports that I have in my PC, my opencpn.ini file and my opencpn.log file.

Best regards.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

I do not know if I should speak to Pavel or Dave.

I had observed an anomaly in WMM. This anomaly is visible on the screenshot that here.

1. In preference, there are 4 lines. One of these lines is in English. Since I did not observe any new item in the crowdin, this is abnormal.

2. Furthermore, the item at the top right will not fit in the window. This makes belief in a spelling mistake. I changed the item in crowdin. Just update the language file.....

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Hello Dave,

I managed to recover without OpenCPN 411022 according crash. I used "0penCPN 40" to change the group of charts, replacing it with another group of charts (CM93 or VMH). I infer that this is the NV-Verlag plugin that causes the crash.

Best regards. Gilletarom.

There's no error message - just a crash out to the desktop. Fortunately it happens after a few seconds of use which makes it possible to reset the display to non OpenGL after a crash.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Inexplicably, to me anyway, the disappearing toolbar seems to be linked to the chartbar.

I have a chart group with CM93-2 and overlaid .kaps. These don't always overlay and often have no chartbar indication. The toolbar icon disappears when the .kap associated chartbar appears or disappears. This can be induced by panning slightly.

The erratic behaviour of the .kap overlay and their chartbars is not new and goes back well before version 4.0. Could be a function of chart scale ... ...

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Dave,

In my tests yesterday, which resulted in the crash, I forgot to say that I had checked the "OpenGL". So the crash took place with openGL ON.
Today I had another crash with the GRIB and OpenGL plugin ON.

I then use OpenCPN 40 to clear the ase OpenGL. So now I have OpenGL OFF.
I could easily see all my charts, including NV-Verlag charts. I could use the plugin without problems Grib.

But I observe a display problem of NV-Verlag charts. See the attached screenshot.

Also, if the zoom level is too large, so Overzoom then the display is streaked horizontally.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Dave,

In another thread there is a discussion about crash in O when zooming in on RNC charts. I have reproduced this crash on 1022 current git build. Once this crash happened then O crashes every time on exit. A crash dump is here:

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Hello Dave,

Just download and install O 411025 and the Nv-Verlag plugin that you provide for this test. File install.log is empty.

For now, I work with OpenGL OFF

with Nv-Verlag plugin, see these two screen copy. One with Quilting ON and one with quilting OFF.

You can see that not good.

Second test, I Change OenGL OFF ++++> OpenGL ON. Then immediate crash.

here join crash report. But the file crash dump seem empty to me.

Third test :
After the second test, I open OpenCPN 4.0. It run with nvverlag chart but with the nv-verlag plugin for O 4.0 (Off course). See the fourth screencopy.

Win10,VS2013
In todays' fetch is AIS Query dialog, left pic, even better.
Is it possible to adapt that sizing structure also to AIS Alert dialog, right pic?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

French written on a forum, O 411022 no longer crash if you delete the ObjSearch plugin. And this with OpenGL or OpenGL ON OFF. Personally, I had not installed this plugin. So ???

So Objsearch has to be fixed... Is the user on Windows?
