I use only wifi connection on mobile devices. Otherwise they stop being mobile.
I have tested and used wifi nmea data on android OpenCPN. It all works as well as on any other platform.
I'am using a Rasberry Pi 2 with OpenPlotter. Adding a small Wifi dongle and GPS mouse.
It is a Wifi AP, a multiplexer, and a receiver for an Dab+ FM+DVB-T.
Now I have a wireless connection with the multiplexed NMEA data, including AIS, available on every other OpenCPN system. Works great on my Android Smart phone
, Android tablet, Linux
Raspberry can start as a stand-alone server.
