Re: OpenCPN and Comar NMEA 2 Wifi

The yellow exclamation mark usually will tell you that you are connected to the source without having connection to Internet - that would be correct in your case.

But do you receive packets from the Comar WiFi on this port?

Wireshark would be the tool to know....

Getting late on this side of the planet

Re: OpenCPN and Comar NMEA 2 Wifi

I will try that however i think that the problem is with the wifi signal coming from the Comar wifi. Although it transmits as i can see its icon on my wifi sources, it doesnt connect to it... pls check the printscreen below (it is in portuguese, but you can see there is no connection)

Re: OpenCPN and Comar NMEA 2 Wifi

Esteemed Forum,

Based on the previous info exchange.. i believe that despite my laptop (windows 7) does pick up/recognize the NMEA Wifi signal, for some reason there are no packages streaming when i check that box in OCPN..(theNMEA debug window). i only see data from my gps.. nothing that indicates any info coming from the NMEA wifi box.
Accoring to following the advice i did download the Wireshark.. but ofcourse i am not up to speed with using these kind of software app so have no clue on what to do with all that info.
Just hoping that somebody had a similar experience with this Comar Wifi AIS and can point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Pieter

Re: OpenCPN and Comar NMEA 2 Wifi

And if you ask Comar directly - they will know about the TCP port they implemented? And perhaps have tinkered with OCPN and their systems...

Different to UCP where you are just listening to the data stream a TCP connection is between a server - the Comar - and a client - OCPN - and the server has to be able to accept the request of the client. Comar will know..

And they are nice guys.
