opencpn 4.0 and bluetooth gps

I purchased a Globalsat BT-821C Bluetooth GPS unit. OpenCPN doesn't seem to recognize the GPS input ... probably a bad case of operator error. I am wondering if someone has any suggestions ...
The installation was done as per Setting Up GPS | Official OpenCPN Homepage under the heading of "Ubuntu 12.04". I am running Ubuntu 15.04 though.
All the steps produce the expected results except when I run OpenCPN to do the final test and get no feed of the GPS data into OpenCPN. I have tried to run OpenCPN from a terminal window using sudo as well as running it under my regular user name.
The one item I am not quite sure on is the setup of the 'connections' in OpenCPN ... I am set for 'serial', data port is /dev/rfcomm0 at 4800 baud and 'control checksum' radio button ticked.
I would appreciate if someone that is using bluetooth gps input could look at their 'connections' screen and report how they are set up!
Thanks!

On Windows 7. First "pair" the device. Then Connections>Add Connection>Port (drop down to) "COM7 Standard Serial over Bluetooth link". Set Baud Rate =38400.

Thanks but the issue is under Ubuntu 15.04. Windows works just fine.

Jacekpio,

I would uinstall the current download, and then download and install again. I have had no problems, like this, with O4.0 and W8.1.

Took a while but worked for me on Ubuntu 14.04 - but with a Nokia LD-3W as described in the link.
