Had the same issue but bye removing the opencpn.xxx files in the user/your directory/library/Preference/ directory problem solved

close OpenCPN
This library is hidden since 0SX 10.7 To unhide files open a Therminal window and type the following command (copy/paste)
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

next right-klik finder and relaunch
go to user/your directory/library/Preference/
remove the Opencpn files

To hide the files again change YES to NO and relauch Finder

start OpenCPN

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

hello,

I am running a full version and a portable version of OpenCPN 3.2 on the same computer (XP -SP3).

I have noticed that the value given for the variation is different between both screen.

Any explanation ?
Serge

Because "Own Ship" is not in the same position on the two instances.
That's the conclusion I draw, looking at the course and distance from the cursor to "Own Ship".

Thanks Thomas well done.

After verification, on one station ownship has been place at home ( I was user a GPS on a previous try) and on the other, the ownship have been place intentionnally by acting on the menu

Thanks again.

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

Thanks Dave and all the contributers, but...

I am having one problem. Afterdownloading 3.2 specifically to see if it handled "shared waypoints" better, and being happily suprised to see that it did, I was then dismayed to find that:
a. The route visability toggle is now very sluggish. It used to be fast.
b. Some waypoints still dissappear when one of the routes which use them is toggled to invisable.

Also, I wonder if we will get relief on the problem of nuisance ais alerts, the repitious alarms are aggrevating. FS#807 - Reduce “Nuisance” AIS Alerts

Wingsail....

Thanks for the feedback.

May we see some (small) GPX files that will demonstrate your points regarding route toggle slow (I presume in the RouteManager Dialog), and shared waypoints being shown/toggled incorrectly?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

Hi there,

I have just installed last 3.2 version but finally I have got "APPCRASH in module wxmsw28u_core_vc_custom.dll".

What I have done before:
  1. I've changed theme (the second position from drop-down list) and rebooted OpenCPN. That was fine. BTW: very nice theme
  2. Next I've changed theme again to see the third one from drop-down list BUT I've noticed that the name of the template is editable so in my ingenuity I've changed this name manually and confirmed.
Result? OpenCPN is crashed now. Reinstal is not a cure
How can I revive the app?

Marcin...
Reinstall would (should) be a cure if you told it to remove your config file... If you don't have any waypoint, tracks an routes you mind loosing, just do it. If you do, find the config file (opencpn.ini) manually and delete it. Where it is depends on Windows version and your particular machine, so I can't give you the exact location, more on it in Installing OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage - It should be either in SYSTEMDRIVE:\ProgramData\opencpn on Vista/7 or SYSTEMDRIVE:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\opencpn on XP. If I remember well...

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

It's nice to see another stable version has been released. I'm disappointed, though, that several feature requests that have been hanging around for a long time haven't been addressed. I know you've got a lot on your plate--the Flyspray list is huge--but could you at least take a look at these items and see if they should be upgraded to a higher priority?

FS#224 - Warn when route crosses area shallower than shallow or safety depth
FS#242 - Add Grounding and Radar Alarms
FS#246 - Search function for objects (e.g., islands)
FS#410 - Make Toolbox/Vector Charts/Depth Settings Units User-Selectable to Match Chart Depth Units
FS#615 - Show Notices to Mariners Revision Date on Raster Charts

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

hi

Thanks for this new release!

A small problem I found with dashboard clock instrument without GPS connected :
My time zone is UTC + 1 and DST start Marsh 31th at 2h00
I set my pc date to this date .
-At 1h59 local I can read on the dashboard clock 0h59 : Ok
-When local time goes through 2h00 it switches to 3h00 due to DST ,
but I read on dashboard 0h59 to 0h00 ! I have now 3h delta instead of 2h
-At 4h00 local , I read UTC 1h00 so still bad
-At 5h00 local , I read UTC 3h00 so OK now.
So I had bad UTC time during 2 hours
I tried with others meridian local time :
UTC + 2 = bad UTC during 3 hours
UTC - 5 = bad UTC during 6 hours

I am unable to test with a GPS connected at the moment , but it should be OK, because I think it's a wxWidgets bug when translating local PC to UTC
Regards

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

Could that be the setting of your computer itself?
I am with Windows 7 and no problem as such.
