As usual, all icons are here: oxygen_opencpn.zip

Yes, I noticed all of the compiler warnings on this also. In fact, compile failed if the XPMs had any transparency. I'll have to look into a better PNG to XPM conversion utility that is scriptable or fix it manually. I'm using ImageMagick's convert now.

Manimaul..

Yes,great icons, can't wait to see the new release of OpenCPN
And the free Inkscape vector graphics prog. is incredible.
I have been using Micrografx Designer program for some time and also CorelDraw, but
Inkscape seems to have it all. Just takes some time to get into. Thanks a lot...

Sinbad you are referring to the compiled versions, while I was talking about changes in the source code repository, that you can download and compile yourself. Not a big deal if you're on Linux.
Check here for more info.
Latest change was

It freezes in "Tools"?
Does it freeze when you first enter tools,
or when you touch a tab (such as "Charts", "AIS', etc),
or when you touch OK Button,
or when you touch Cancel Button?

Config file looks OK

Dave,
For instant it freezes only with the "Tools", it doesn't freezes when I open the "Tools", but after when :
* I press either the OK or Cancel Button of the "Tools" : immediatly
* I try to choose any options, whatever is the tab : immediatly

It doen't freeze when :

* I switch from a tab to an other.
* I look at any drop-down menu

* It doesn't freeze immediatly when I close the "Tools" using the Red Cross - Close the window, and then I can open charts and switch from one to another, I can zoom in and out with the scrolling button.
But If I try to create a route or to use any fonction, Scale In, Scale Out, Zoom In, Zoom Out, etc., it frezes immediatly.
Why it doesn't freeze with the scrolling button and it does with the icons Zoom In and Out, I don't know !
If I have not open the "Tools" before I can use the icons normally.

I can attest to the freeze in Linux as well using version 1.3.2

I'm not having any freeze issue with self compiled cvs. I will compile you a cvs .deb if you are using Ubuntu jpiebrig or give you instruction on how to do it. Just let me know if you are interested.

Manimaul...

So I am clear:

a) The 1.3.2 sourceforge .deb freezes on toolbox, as described.

b) Fresh build from CVS sources as of today works OK.
or
c) Build from sourceforge 1.3.2 tar (NOT CVS)works OK

Is this right? Or some combination?

For me both .deb and tar.gz2 are freezing. But I am going to do a last try with tar.gz2.

Yes Manimaul, I am using Ubuntu Jaunty and I will be glad to know how to compile a cvs.deb. Thank you in advance.

Beta 821 available

Hello All...

Opencpn Version 1.3.3 Beta Build 821 is now available at

opencpnbeta

Here is the Changelog: (post Build 728)

20. Improve Route and Waypoint selection/deletion logic
21. Improve Waypoint calculations near Intl. Date Line (180 ELon).
22. Change Measure Tool mouse interface.
23. Implement Tracking, enable on Toolbox->Etc......
24. Add ability to suppress AIS Alerts from moored targets
25. Correct/Improve font selection logic for Nav Console
26. Linux builds, add support for /dev/rfcomm devices, e.g. Bluetooth GPS
27. Help file opens system default browser instead of internal HTML viewer.
28. Implement rt-click "Delete All Routes", "Delete All Waypoints"
29. Implement rt-click "Move Boat Here" as an assist to planning without GPS input.
30. On CM93 charts, with "Show Chart Outlines", show next finer scale cell outlines (experimental)
31. New icons Comments solicited.
32. Tweak AIS dialog
33. Support partial or incomplete CM93 datasets.
----------Publish Beta 1.3.3 Build 821---------

A couple of things to note here:

1. Windows beta is now built with Microsoft tools. This makes the .exe a bit larger, but probably improves the speed due to MSVC's better code optimization algorithms.
On the other hand, we could regress into "DLL Hell". If you have been there, you know what I mean.
Consider this build an experiment, and send comments regarding perceived performance differences, as well as any DLL problems noted. Experienced developers comments re MS vs. Watcom tools encouraged.

2. Note # 29 above. Try this, and let me know if it helps in route planning, etc.

3. There were, unfortunately, lots of pervasive changes, which means the chances of old features becoming broken is increased. Test thoroughly, please. Check out your favorite feature/location/chart type, and try to break it.

4. CVS source code tree is up-to-date.

5. I consider us feature-complete for an official release of Version 1.4.0 pending resolution of any problems discovered in this test.

Thanks again for all your help and input. You guys (and gals?) are a great group of Beta testers!

Good luck
Dave

Dave, thanks for the beta.

I just trying installing it over the previous beta and over a clean 1.3.2 install, both on Vista. In both cases only ENC charts work. Neither CM93 or BSB charts will load. I was getting CM93 charts initially, which is what I had the previous beta configured to use. I deleted the CM93 entry from the chart list to try ENCs by themselves, and from that point on I've been unable to get CM93 to work (and BSBs don't load at all). Backing up to the previous beta (over a clean 1.3.2 baseline install) still works.
