phiggins....

Something in your build stack is causing a load of the runtime dll. (msvcrtd.lib which links to dll) Doesn't happen on mine.

Maybe you could send me a copy of opencpn.vcproj, and we could compare.

F4 to activate the measuring tool works great; unfortunately it only activates it. Deactivating it requires right-click, and the dialogue still always opens in the top left of the window regardless of prior cursor position. This is on newest build as of sept 2. #

Thanks for your time.

ESC also turns it off, which might be quicker for you.

Dave

HDM and other autoplitot / instrument data are being sent every second.

The heading of the ship should be 314 (no RMC, so no correction for variation)

Opencpn shows a gray tanker. Sometimes in a 90 degrees position,

Sometimes it shows the tanker in this position, this could be 314 degrees, the correct heading

It toggles between the two headings more often than every 6 seconds. Maybe the timeout is not 6 second but something less than a second.

When I turn on the GPS it shows more variant headings: One of them could very well be the correct heading, others seem to relate to COG and every so often the ship sits at 90 degrees. It switches between these headings in random intervals. Sometimes it takes several seconds (but always less than 10s), sometimes it toggles twice within a second.

Hope this helps

Dirk

Thanks for that. Useful.

On a different note, my leg/route popup window has a graphical error (the text overlaps in quite an ugly fashion). This is not helped by changing the console/numbers font sizes, the window just gets smaller and the text continues to overlap. Has anyone else seen this on gnome?

Dave..

1.I did a 'delete all routes'. 'This leg' panel still remained so I clicked on it,then crash....

2.Some people here seems to have the ability to click on the 'This leg' to switch info in the panel. This function is not available on my Vista, nor XP versions.

The screen shot come thru a little garbled....

LeaseOnLife....

Just for fun....

Add the following (undocumented) line to opencpn.ini, in the [Settings] section:

DebugNMEA=1

Then, run opencpn for a few minutes. Look at the logfile. There should be some NMEA debug info shown.

Dave..

Clicks on Route/Leg does nothing for me. I suppose it should switch between Route and Leg display?

Dave...
I can confirm Sinbads observation. If you have an active route, and click "delete all routes", the program crashes. If you have more than one route and click "delete all routes" on the inactive route, it still crashes. Nothing happens unless you have an active route.
Deleting an active route ??? Maybe there should be a warning pop up:
"You cannot delete an active route." or something similar, preventing you to do stupid things.
By the way, I suppose you don't need a ddd dump?

idpnd observation about the route pop up is interesting. Similar problem using KDE. See screen dump.
