Yep, I got it, its a valid bug. Appears under Windows if you happen to have a BSB chart directory structure like:

C:\{whatever}\18022/18022.BSB

I.e. fully numeric directory names in the tree. (18022)

Nothing wrong with that, per se, but it conflicts with some other code that looks for cm93 charts, which do have numeric dirs.

The CM93 problem is related....

Anyway, I'll fix it, and post the info here tomorrow.

"make" stops with the last error below.

Thanks for a great new version which I am running on Vista.
The TRACK icon seem to be missing though? Both my cm93 and BSB charts seem to be working normally. I will spend some time later testing it all. Thanks Dave...

When I load 132 and then the new beta, I can add cm93 maps (full set) but they don't show. openCPN does not freeze or so.
When I first load 132, then add cm93 and then load the new beta, the maps show and work ok. When I now delete the maps and then add them again they don't show.

Build 821 had a fatal flaw in directory scanning.

Build 822 Windows Beta is available. Corrected initial directory scan problems.

Also, track.xpm added to CVS repository.

The new version seems to work well in Vista now and thanks a lot for adding real time and geo loc in the AIS queery box,PERFECT!! Now just make the box a little less dominating. I still feel it's too large.

Another more important matter is that my cm93 charts would not load after innstallation. It was only after selecting the first line after the directory heading D:/cm93 that the charts started to load. Also,after installing this new version,all previously loaded charts had disappeared and had to be re-installed

Where exactly does the new TRACK icon go? The new MOB icon looks fine but I think it should have a cross mark in the middle to measure the EXACT geographic location with the cursor.

But,as I said,now everything seems to work beautifully

1. Get required programs, remove old install

2. Download source code from cvs.

OpenCPN compiles alright now from CVS.

I started testing with phiggins simulator, to see how the tracking worked. I ran into a segfault. See screen dump from ddd below.

I let the simulator run for a while, then clicked the track to check properties. I then clicked the OK button in the pop up window.
The segfault came when I did exactly the same thing again.

I could not get the simulator to run at the same time as OpenCPN was running through ddd ( I have very little experience with ddd or gdb).
At the time of the screen dump I'm using an old track from a previous run with the simulator.

Another observation. Sometimes when going from a C scale chart in CM93 to a D or E- scale chart, the track vanished. Clicking on the track icon, made it show again.

Off to some more testing......
