Open CPN and Windows 10

I installed Open CPN last summer. After a little bit of difficulty I have been operating it successfully using Windows 7.

Recently I have been receiving messages urging me to upgrade to Windows 10. If I do that, will I have any difficulties in using Open CPN?

If there are likely to be complications in using Windows 10 and Open CPN, are there enough advantages with Windows 10 with other uses of my computer to justify the time and trouble that I might spend getting Open CPN to function satisfactorily?

Win 10 will try to at any time use a lot of bandwidth witch is not always welcome on-board a vessel. To stop the "marketing" campaign from microsoft urging you to upgrade to windows10, you can use a small program Stop "Windows 10 Nagging and Spying. Works with Win7-10" that will disable this behavior. see link:

I know many people is using win10 with opencpn, and opencpn runs well on win10, but really, what will win 10 contribute to your navigation ??, still struggling to find any positive,,

Re: Open CPN and Windows 10

Bob,

no problems with respect to OCPN migrating to W10.
We have now three systems with W10, two with 8.1 and one with W7 (plus one XP).
No difference.
