Re: Online creation of BSB/KAP files from Google Maps

As of version .98d Beta VF can now create kaps from either Google Maps or Virtual Earth (Bing). Added another feature of a "key" for a profile that would allow apps to make a direct call to the VF server for a kap file to be generated. This was implemented for integration with SEAiq but could also be used for OpenCPN. Although I do not have the time it would be cool if a plugin was developed for OpenCPN that could make a direct web request from VF that would pass the needed parameters then save the returned kap into a local folder, all from within OpenCPN (what the developer for SEAiq is currently working on). What I envision in OpenCPN is zooming into an area on the CM93 chart, clicking a "Get Sat Image" button, wait a few seconds and have it show up. Of course an internet connection would have to be present for this magic to work. Any bored plugin developers interested ???
