OesENC cards dispay

Hello,

I bought yesterday the oesENC card pack (France Atlantic 2019) for OpenCPN.

A single card appears at launch (see attachment) and then you must either zoom in on this area, or click on another green pad at the bottom, to get a detailed map.

Of course (!?!), by sliding the map from one place to another (ex: from DK to Brest), nothing appears spontaneously, it is necessary in this case to click on the bottom pad, then zoom in or change pad to show the local map ...

To have used little last year (other software), I do not remember such a display ...

Hence my question here :
Is this display "normal" ?
Should we have - by launching OCN5 - just a piece of map that appears or, on the contrary, the entire Atlantic façade ?

Note that in the tab "maps-data/oesenc", no map reference appears.
To refresh the list of cards, I have to connect to the internet ...

Windows 10
OpenCPN 5.0.0
oesenc-pi 3.0

Re: OesENC cards dispay

After noting the lack of display of the name of the cards, I tried to refresh this list of packs of cards.
An internet connection was necessary.

I then re-downloaded the card pack, I reinstalled it and restarted OCN5, but I still get the same display ...

Re: OesENC cards dispay

You are in single chart mode - please look at the squared, not rounded chart indicators at the bottom.
"Q" = quilting

Re: OesENC cards dispay

Thank you for this beginning of answer.

But I do not understand "look at the squared, not rounded chart indicators" and "quilting" ...

So that's what I just did :
I ticked the box "mosaic display", everything has disappeared.
I unchecked this box but nothing appears.

I restarted OpenCPN but I do not even have the message about the validity of the cards !

Re: OesENC cards dispay

OK, i understand what you mean.
"Quilting" is like "check/uncheck" mosaic display...
So i do that but the display is not good...

Re: OesENC cards dispay

Single chart mode: chart indicators with sharp corners
Quilted mode: chart indicators with rounded corners

And please enable "chart outlines" - the "O" (Oooh) key toggles them

Re: OesENC cards dispay

Please see #7 and then zoom in. Try the slider at +4 perhaps...

As i wrote in #9, nothing more happen.

I made exactly the same settings that you showed in #7 but i always have a part of the map or nothing, as illustrated in #7...
I tried the slider at +2, +3, +4 and + 5.
Nothing more appeared, except more or less details in the part of map.

Re: OesENC cards dispay

Why do you think that #9 is not ok? There are already 3 charts involved in the quilting.
Do you expect to see the complete coast up to Dunkirk?

That will not happen because of the differences in scales of the charts involved. The jump is too big.

If you zoom in into the Channel, you will get to see those charts.

OK, thanks, that is now more clear.
Effectively, i expected to see the complete coast up to Dunkirk.

But, there is a problem.
Why don't i see the list of map in the settings (see, please, illustration in #2) ?

Re: OesENC cards dispay

Yes I know...

But if I press this button, I am asked to access to internet, which is not always practical when you go boating.

I think I remember that, with OpenCpn version 4.8.8, the list of maps appeared without having to access to internet.

The button "refresh the list of cards" was only used to check if there were any updates.
