OepnCPN x paper charts

hi, I am very new to the forum and to the OpenCPN software so bear with me, I have some questions that I could not find answer on the manual so here they are:

Lets say you make a trip plan on your computer using the software and then you print your route, as the result I have the waypoints that I can transfer to the GPS, now if I sail this plan and get off from the curse the GPS alarm will go off and I can correct my heading, now lets say that I have a total power failure and I am offshore, I still have my waypoints and bearing print out so I can plot them on a paper chart to do DR, EP, once the bearings are magnetic I can plot using magnetic rose on the chart but I do not know:

a) when I plot the trip on OpenCPN, the consider the current and wind effects to calculate the route?
b) Using the charts I'll have to plot a new route using the same waypoints but considering the current effect, I will have to transform all those in true on the chart?
c)and after all I have to go back and translate everything to a C bearing so I can use the compass and charts?

Any help it will greatly appreciated.

You can use the weather routing plugin to find optimal routes based on wind and current effects.

Thank you for the information, I have installed the plugin however I tried several times to run the calculation and it did not give me any answer, I have installed climatology too and have the updated Grib files, have given the software all the boat info, route, etc.. follow the instructions on the plugin website and still zipo, no change on the route nor a new suggested plot, please someone can give me a jump start on this?

Thanks

Did it list any error in the status? You could post the configuration xml files... it would be good to determine why you have a problem maybe it's a common pitfall.
